Summary: Regression: Word 2000 menus frozen after
minimize/restore
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc1
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ben(a)bristoll.com
I observed this same exact issue under Wine 0.9.59 from the Ubuntu Hardy Heron
repository when it was released... then it was fixed in Wine 0.9.60. Now the
issue is back in Wine 1.0 RC1.
Everything works fine in Microsoft Word 2000, until I minimize the window and
then restore it. Thereafter, the menus ("File", "Edit", "View", etc.) do not
appear when I click on them. There is no visual response either when mousing
over the menus. Also, right-clicking in the workspace no longer pops up a
context menu.
This faulty behavior persists until I close Word and then re-open it, at which
point everything is fine again until I do a minimize/restore.
Please don't let this regression into Wine 1.0, please.
Thanks,
Ben

output log
I have an old version of Magenta Polylexicon dictionary (does translations of
English,Franch,Italian and Greek) which used to work just fine with wine.
since 0.9.60 and onwards (including 1.0-rc1) it now has some issues. First of
all it opens 2 windows instead of one. The UI doesn't respond, neither keyboard
nor mouse. In fact, the cursor disappears when moving on top of the windows and
they don't redraw.
I've attached the output I get.
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04. This happened on 7.10 as well.

Summary: Pro/Engineer 2001 Student/Personal Edition no longer
runs
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.61.
Platform: PC

Previous to Wine 0.9.5x (sorry I can't be more specific) Pro/E 2001
Student/Personal Edition was running rather well and was usable for many things
without crashing. I recently upgraded to Wine 0.9.57 and it stopped working
altogether. That is, it would display the splash screen, remove the splash
screen and then nothing would happen. There were no warnings, errors, etc. -
not even any stub/fixme messages.
Yesterday I updated Wine to 0.9.61 hoping that would fix the problem, but
unfortunately it didn't. I also tried a fresh Wine directory with a fresh
install of Pro/E (with modified batch files so that it'll run under Wine), but
still no luck.
So far as installing goes, it will only install if the Windows version is set
to win95 or win98. Anything greater than that and the installer will complain
that it can't get write access to the Program Files directory.
So far as running goes, it has run the same no matter what the Windows version
was set to.
When it did run, right before starting, wine would spit out four lines of some
stub function that was getting called.
If you need a copy of my modified startup batch file or a copy the install disk
for testing purposes, let me know.

In UFO: Aftershock, the mouse cursor is invisible. It is extremely frustrating,
since it does actually work, there is just no way of knowing where the mouse is
on the screen.

in-game screenshot showing some problems
Many textures are missing, for examples on walls, and so are icons. On the HUD,
the text appears in plain white instead of a greeny LCD colour, and the health
bar is white too instead of red.
This bug is present since some Wine versions (I think it's present since
0.9.52), but the game used to work very well before that.
