On an upgrade from 6.17 to 6.32 the bug is no longer apparent and remote
scripts can be shown and edited.
I've not tried the workaround as of yet.

Yes!
It is still issue in 1.0 rc 3.
But I have found, that when switching between different windows version in
winecfg, finale may show file types for example in xp, millenium, 95, but soon
after restarting finale there is a blank space again.
I haven't found any rule for system change in winecfg that causes finale to
show these file types.
Nevertheless I am happy to see, that there is even small progress in this
field.
regards
Piotr

Installs and runs, too, at least if you pick opengl mode in the initial screen!

bug 13666 seems unrelated, are you sure about that number?
Can another user confirm that
wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
sh winetricks riched20
works around the problem? If so, we can change the category to riched20.

Michael, do not reply to wine-bugs, please post in Bugzilla. Email read:
"Unfortunately I have been unable to test this for a while now. I'm
using the radeonhd driver on a Radeon HD 3870, which doesn't (yet)
support 3d acceleration. Even back when I was using the ATI binary
blob, it didn't work; the last time I started HL2 on my desktop in
Linux was when I had my last NVIDIA card."
