I habe sound in Guild Wars everywhere.
There is only no sound, if e.g. firefox is running with youtube video playing
or another application which uses the soundcard.

I have no problems with sounds, Full Driver, 44100kbit, NoEmulation
I'm using ALSA. I think this bug is fixed.

Summary: Some checkboxes are not selectable in WinUAE
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.4
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.winuae.net/
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
[I guess this might be a problem with Wine comctl32 or comdlg32, but I don't
know enough about Windows to say.]
WinUAE is an open source (GPL) emulator of Amiga computers, available from
http://www.winuae.net/. Some checkboxes in the WinUAE settings window cannot be
checked. (Others work fine however.)
To demonstrate:
- Run WinUAE
- Click on "Floppy drives"
- Note how the DF0: write-protected checkbox is greyed out. That is correct.
- Click the DF0: "..." button and select a disk image for drive DF0: in the
Floppy drives page. For example, select rsi1.adf after downloading and
decompressing ftp://ftp.coresystems.de/pub/uae/rsi1.adf.gz
- The write-protected checkbox is now blank. Click on it. The checkbox remains
blank, but it should become checked.
All(?) other checkboxes in the settings window seem to operate correctly.

Thinking about this more, the application should have its own exception handler
around the remote call which should catch the exception. Maybe the exception
doesn't have the right code...
Could you attach a +rpc,+ole,+tid,+seh,+relay log of the issue being
reproduced?

The fix for this bug is to disable font smoothing in XP. YOu can disable it by
going to the Advanced tab in System Properties, going to Performance and
clicking on Settings, then go to visual effects and uncheck "Smooth Edges of
screen fonts". The pink should be gone after you apply that change. It appears
it is not so much a bug as a compatibility problem with XP for a game built for
Windows 98. Enjoy!!
