Summary: GTA San Andreas Second Edition will not run
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.29
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: carlton.hobbs(a)gmail.com
I'm not sure of the difference between the original San Andreas (which I lost)
and the Second Edition (which I just bought), but the original worked well
under wine, the Second won't run at all.
My guess is related to the fixme also included in the attachment:
fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 2d0c04 (device=2d access=0
func=301 method=0)

I tried without any options and with suggested: -silent -window -novid -dxlevel

The screen gets black. After some time music appears, but screen is all the

Graphic Glitch Crash Terminal Output
See the attached document for the terminal output. It does not complete the
debug trace, even after letting it sit for over an hour.
My distribution is Kubuntu 9.04.
System specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
1gb RAM
nVidia 6200 w/256mb RAM
Registry has been edited to tell wine that I have 256mb ram on video card. EVE
is installed in a clean prefix and native DirectX 9 is installed.
I'm working on doing screen caps to attach. Problem is, it crashes before I
can do this.
Dialing back to 1.1.24 fixes the problem. I will attempt to do regression
testing when/if I have time.

A log of Wine's output after the crash occurs.
I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and Wine 1.1.10.
I installed the game from the CD, updated to the latest version (1.09), and the
game launches just fine. When it gets into the main menu I notice that it's
running a lot slower than it should be. I can start a single player game and it
still runs slow, and then crashes. It doesn't matter what I do in the game,
after about a minute it crashes. I can leave it at the main menu, or start a
game, or a tutorial or whatever, it crashes. It crashes strait to the desktop
without returning to the normal resolution (I run at 1024x768).
After it crashes, Wine starts acting very funny. None of the Wine applications
running will show up in the system tray like they're supposed to (I run
uTorrent). When I maximize uTorrent it only draws at a 800x600 resolution (the
resolution EU2 was running at), anything outside of that is squiggles. The only
way I know to fix this is to log out of Ubuntu and log back in.

Clicking on the New Tab button in Dooble causes the browser window to close. It
doesn't crash or print anything suspicious to the terminal. If multiple browser
windows are open, it only closes the one that was clicked. I have tested this
on Windows XP, and on Windows the button creates a new tab.

Crash Log for Oblivion Bug
I've noticed during the dark brotherhood quests when using backbuffer for
OffScreenRenderingMode that the game may crash when certain things are done.
Entering certain doors will always cause a crash, jumping into the water during
certain points of certain quests will also cause a crash. It's seems that
numerous things trigger this crash, but they all produce an almost identical
back trace. If anyone has trouble reproducing this bug, then I'll post
additional info / my hardware.
