Summary: PowerPoint 2003 slows down dramatically.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.31
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: lukasz.wojnilowicz(a)gmail.com
The problem is that on Wine 1.1.31 PowerPoint 2003 works very very slow. I
start application and see how all elements on the main screen of PP2003 are
slowly drawn.
When I use Compiz, my computer hangs so I need to reset or wait for long time
so my computer unlocks for a second.
The same happens for all AutoCADs 2008 when I'm in "2D Drafting & Annotation"
mode. I see that all small icons from toolbox are drawn but it's very very
slow.
No problem at all on Wine 1.1.30. Regression test did give:

Patch to return 1 instead of 0
Remarks
A process without a graphical user interface does not use GUI resources,
therefore, GetGuiResources will return zero.
GR_GDIOBJECTS 0 -- Return the count of GDI objects.
GR_GDIOBJECTS_PEAK 2 -- Return the peak count of GDI objects. (Win 7 Only)

As this function is not implemented for the time being it might be usefull to
return 1 or a value greater than 0.

Summary: PLSQLDeveloper freeze Gnome on initial update
notification
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.34
Platform: x86-64
URL: http://www.allroundautomations.com
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: alex(a)stanev.org
PLSQLDeveloper has a feature to check online and notify on startup on new
releases. When this happens, the "Update" window is shown and the Gnome
"freezes". However, the mouse moves, but the shell does not accept clicks.
Going through tty console and killing the process helps - after restart, the
message is not shown again. Manual checking through Help->Check online
updates... does not express this bug.

Summary: Half Life 2: Episode 2
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.35
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: webmobster(a)gmail.com
No HUD in DirectX 9 mode, frequent crashes on DirectX 8 mode on Half Life 2
Episode 2 (it isn't meant to run in DirectX 8 mode so probably not a wine bug
but also not a usable workaround), also other programs of the same source
generation (Team fortress 2 and Portal).
It appears to be linked to Nvidia driver version (version 180 supposedly works
http://appdb.winehq.org/commentview.php?iAppId=2095&iVersionId=9421&iThread…)
but it is impossible to verify as my Linux kernel (2.6.31-16-generic Ubuntu
9.10 ) only supports 185 drivers and newer (except for the old 173 driver)
which are all affected versions.
I have tried drivers from 173, 185, 190, 195 and the 1.1.26 version of wine
with a platinum rating, they are all affected.

Summary: openal: Games that use OpenAL lose sound
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.30
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jsims2359(a)gmail.com
Games that use OpenAL have sound problems. In certain cases, sound cannot be
initialized and the game will not start.
For Example:
Bioshock - game won't start.
Frontlines: Fuel of War - sound cuts out completely.
Unreal Tournament 3 - no sound.
Mass Effect - no sound.
Sound worked fine prior to wine-1.1.30. Bypassing openal.dll is required to
eliminate problem.
