Summary: Wine with Nvidia GeForce G105M
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P4

Hello. Im running Ubuntu Ultimate on Acer Extensa 5635G. Graphic's card is
Nvidia GeForce G105M. Ive had a hard time setting up the drivers for the x
itself, and now - I have no idea how to fix Wine. The 6 screener 640x480 is a
fact. For all I know, the Nvidia driver itself does not support the gcard
completely, but if you could trick it into working on X, maby there is some way
for Wine too? Sorry if my post is bad or waste of time, Im new to this

Just the thing that Need for Speed Underground 2 doesn't receive any keyboard
input.

With Wine 1.1.34:
* If I don't use the native dinput8.dll...
I can't use keybord to navigate menus after starting the game. I can navigate
over the menus using the mouse instead. If I start a race, the begin of the
race appears on the screen, before the girl say to run, the game crash.
The last output in terminal is:
Backtrace:

* If I use the native dinput8.dll...
The keyboard works, I don't have to use the mouse to navigate menus.
When a start a race, wine an error happens around the same moment, but
magically after closing the error message, I still can play, run the race,
drive the car, etc. But not everything goes ok: after the error message, the
sound start to loop (I'm using oss4 if that matters). With the sound looping I
continue to drive the car until the game close itself with no more error
messages.
The last output in terminal is:

In both cases, after the game closes, my desktop resolution stays 1024x728
(game resolution) and don't go back to 1440x900 (my desktop resolution). I have
to manually reconfigure the screen.
I will send the complete backtrace to both cases as attachments, and would like
to help with more tests if needed.

Per comment 8 it's a missed font problem, not a gdi one.

This still doesn't work on 1.1.34 either with or without native dinput.dll
Without native dinput.dll will start the game but it will fail receiving input.
With native dinput.dll won't even start the game because of this:
wine: Unimplemented function dinput.dll.DirectInputCreateEx

Summary: Cannot delete gnome menu entries created by wine
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: c_korn(a)gmx.de
My OS is Ubuntu 8.04.
I cannot delete some gnome menu entries which were created by wine.
I already opened a bug report for alacarte (the menu editor of gnome).
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alacarte/+bug/268279
But I thought it could also be a wine bug because other menu entries can be
deleted.
(In my case deletion of the universal combat [URL:
http://www.worthdownloading.com/download.php?gid=490&id=13639] menu entries
fails.)

should be suppressed. Feel free to open a bug if you like so you can
reference it. The existing bug about a leak in rsaenh, 20684, doesn't
seem appropriate, as it may not cover this case.
Here's the scoop: the leak comes from
test_verify_detached_message_signature. This calls
CryptVerifyDetachedMessageSignature, with one of its arguments being a
pointer to a CRYPT_VERIFY_MESSAGE_PARA structure. This calls
CryptMsgOpenToDecode, passing as the crypto provider the provider set
in the CRYPT_VERIFY_MESSAGE_PARA structure... except that it's 0. If
it's 0, it calls CRYPT_GetDefaultProvider(), and sets an internal flag
indicating the the crypto provider shouldn't be unloaded, since it's
process-wide. There's that famous CRYPT_GetDefaultProvider again: it
can't be unloaded by crypt32, so it leaks whatever it's got, including
the last set of keys that get set into it.
-- snip --
Filing bug for reference, I'll add a suppression.
