When making changes of any kind to an application, an email is sent.
In Bugzilla, if you are the one making the changes, there is an option to not
receive the email.
Can this be added to the AppDB?

Summary: Graphical glitches on Ricochet Xtreme... due to triple
buffering?
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.17
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P4
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: manwesulimo2004(a)yahoo.co.uk
Ricochet Xtreme works great on Wine 1.1.17.
However there is a bit of a glitch which occurs: When sprites move too quickly
they leave seem to leave a trail. This may have to do with triple buffering.
Here is some output from my console:
fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_CreateSwapChain The app requests more than one bac
k buffer, this can't be supported properly. Please configure the application to
use double buffering(=1 back buffer) if possible
A trial version of the game is downloadable from the following link:

Summary: Call of Cthulhu: Slow and jerky mouse movement
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.58.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: vkojouharov(a)gmail.com
In Call of Cthulhu (
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=3981 ), the
mouse movement in the main (or any other) menu, as well as the inventory
system, is extremely slow and jerky. When moving the mouse, the cursor will not
move, but after a second or two, will teleport somewhere in the intended
directory.
This is actually a regerssion. Prior to 0.9.56, the mouse was slow, but with
0.9.56, the problem was fixed. With 0.9.57 however, the problem was
resurrected, and it is still present in 0.9.58.
p.s. This is not related to the same bug, but I don't know whether I should
file a new bug for this. The same game is at least twice as slow, as compared
to Vista. Furthermore, the texture on the skybox looks like an extremely
compressed jpeg picture of a sky, with only a few colors (in windows, the
skybox looks fine).

Summary: World of Warcraft regular crashes using NVidia Geforce
9600 GT

Terse output of wine.
Frequent in-game crashes with no criteria required to reproduce other than
logging into the game and "standing around".
The only required factor is patience. The first crash typically occurs
30-minutes into a session, with the second 15-20 minutes after restarting, with
gradually increasing frequency.
Eventually, crashes will occur within seconds or minutes of each other, and by
this threshold frequently cause the X server to crash.
I have tested various NVidia driver versions, and two AMD64 systems with the
same video card on two different distributions (Ubuntu Gutsy/Hardy x86_64
hybrid, and Sabayon 3.5 x86_64 fresh) as well as older versions of wine (0.9.6
and up) up to and including 1.1.0.
Although I suspect this is an NVidia driver issue related to this card, I have
read similar reports of World of Warcraft itself crashing on the Win32 platform
with newer generation hardware as well, and as such am reporting this bug to
Nvidia, Wine, and Blizzard.
Attached is the wine output in text format.
When crashing, a memory violation error window is displayed as well as the
Blizzard bug report feedback window.

wine-1.1.19-272-g73977e6 +gdiplus +relay +seh +tid last 2MB
Everest Poker and Casino exit silently after the initial "Starting up..."
screen.
Workaround is native gdiplus.dll
+gdiplus doesn't give much so attaching last 2MB of +relay log. Full log
available if needed (~26MB), it compresses well.

After upgrading to 1.1.19 the copy/paste functionality between native linux
apps and word 2003/2007 stopped working. There is no way to paste the contents
of the clipboard into a word document.
However excel 2003 works correctly.
I think that this bug is related to the following changelog entry
- Fixes to OLE clipboard handling.

Summary: System Font Linking fails with MS Shell Dlg
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.19
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: gdi32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: Paul.Hampson(a)Pobox.com
If MS Shell Dlg (or presumably any other font named in
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes is used to
render text, the system font linking support provided by
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontLink\SystemLink fails.
What happens is that the substitution list in SystemLink is stored by real font
name, such that putting an entry for MS Shell Dlg in that list will actually
store an entry in the system_links list (in gdi32/freetype.c) for the font that
points to (Tahoma under en-US codepage). This means it is possible to have two
entrys for one real font in this list, as it happens.
However, when create_child_font_list (also in gdi32/freetype.c) goes searching
for entries in system_links, it searches by virtual name (ie MS Shell Dlg if
that is what the program asked for) and so fails to find any matches.
This causes get_glyph_index_linked to not have any children to search, and
hence return FALSE, causing the glyphs in question to be replaced with glyph 0.
This affects uTorrent 1.8. uTorrent 1.7 used Tahoma as its GUI font, so simply
enabling SystemLink for Tahoma (as per bug 10864 comment 4) would allow
non-local-codepage characters to display correctly. Under uTorrent 1.8 however,
this fails.
It looks to me like the problem is that create_child_font_list should be
searching the system_links list by real font name, not virtual font name, for
best consistency with Windows.
