Hi,
I've just upgraded WINE to 1.0.1 today and found out that DesignaKnit 7 won't
run anymore.
It previously worked fine with WINE 0.9.37.
WINEDEBUG=all log attached. A demo version can be downloaded here
<http://www.softbyte.co.uk/dkdemdl.htm> to reproduce the problem.
Thanks.

Move the users profile directory from C:\Windows\Profiles\ to C:\Documents and
Settings\ or C:\Users\
C:\Windows\Profile is old legacy location for crappy legacy Windows 95.
In 2000 and XP it is in C:\Documents and Settings\
In Vista it is in C:\Users\
We should consider moving it and providing symlinks in all the old places,
especially when we are in "Vista mode". One possible worry is that if we
provide just normal symlinks, an old app might be confused by looking in all 3
folders.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #12949 +++
I'm splitting this off since it's presumably unrelated to general graphics
slowness in Assassin's Creed.
Other people have played the game without reporting this issue, but for me (and
some others) the characters have messed up vertices - see the image attachment.
Only happens on the characters, not background walls, etc (as far as I can
tell).
I've confirmed it exists in 1.1.5, 1.0 and 0.9.61. None of the in-game
graphics options seem to affect this problem - any hints on what else I can do
to help narrow this down?

Call of duty 4 with 3D Mark patch only (+d3d trace)
After applying the 3D Mark patch (see bug 9210) the game will start to load and
crash before entering the menu.
In 1.0 rc3 I was possible to ear sound while having a black screen or a message
box displaying :
DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error.
Check the readme for possible solutions.
With 1.0 rc4 the game just segfault right after the splash screen.
I have an nvidia geforce 9600gt with the driver 173.14.05 and is performing
well with other 3D games in wine.
I made some test, changing the offscreen rendering method and the video memory
size without any change in the result.
I'm attaching a trace with +d3d with the 3D Mark patch only and another one
with applying also the NVidia patch.
Patches are linked on the appdb page :

Summary: Trackmania (Nations) Forever doesn't sometimes work with
3d-glasses
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc1
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ape3000(a)gmail.com
Trackmania Forever (and Trackmania Nations Forever) doesn't sometimes work with
3d-glasses. Usually, when I press the 3d-glasses button it applies the
3d-filter and it looks cool with the glasses.
Occasionally when I try to enable the filter or load a new track it doesn't do
anything. The game looks normal, but without the 3d-effect. When this happens
the game is slowed down significally. The slow down fixes by disabling the
effect. The 3d-effects sometimes work again, when I load a new track and then
try again.

Summary: Microsoft Pinball Arcade jittery animations
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.61.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: vanessaezekowitz(a)gmail.com
Movements of the ball, flippers, and other objects in Microsoft Pinball Arcade
have become jittery. The effect is similar to what you'd get if you have a
double-buffered game engine that mostly runs normally, but intermittently mixes
up the two buffers (maybe this is what's happening?).
The effect happens every couple of seconds, and lasts for what looks like two
frames. It is easiest to see this artifact when the ball is moving fast (thus
the ball covers the most distance between adjacent frames), particularly across
an open part of the table just after you hit it with a flipper.
Expected behavior:
The game should animate smoothly as it does in Windows and previous versions of
Wine.
Versions affected:
Wine 0.9.45 works fine in this regard, as do some later versions. 0.9.61 and
1.0 rc1 show this artifact. My normal procedure is to install a version of
Wine, test it, and if I discover something wrong, I simply roll back to a
version that I know works (in this case, 0.9.45).
