Summary: Orbiter crashes when trying to load scenario through
wine
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified

OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Output of wine in terminal seen after program crash
Orbiter (version 060929 patch 1) crashes when trying to run a scenario from the
"Launchpad" menu. This was installed using the latest stable release of Wine,
1.0.1.
Installs fine, when started "Launchpad" dialogue opens as it would on Windows.
Trying to run a scenario presents a blank turquoise screen with part of a file
name on the left hand side. Normal behavior should be a splash screen with the
files being loaded on the left hand side, before starting the scenario.
Orbiter log file shows no error, which would be expected if an Orbiter error
caused it.

Summary: holding down mouse button, mg gun only fires 1 or 2
rounds, stutters
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.12

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Priority: P2
Component: -unknown

In Medal of Honor Spearhead, after upgrading to Wine 1.1.12, now when I hold
down the mouse button to fire a machine gun, it only fires 1 or 2 rounds then
stops or stutters. It makes machine guns useless.
The upgrade did fix other mouse issues though, like before it took about a half
second between the time I pressed the mouse button and the gun started to fire.
I tested it in Ubuntu, and I used the "seta in_mouse -1" fix.
If you are in Ubuntu, you may also want to disable pulseaudio to get audio
working correctly.

Old computer was amd64, 2Gig RAM, nVidia 7800GTS running Gentoo Linux
(unstable).
wine has always run my games reasonably well :)
New computer (old one died) intel Core2 Quad, nVidia 9800GX2, 4Gig Ram - again
running Gentoo Linux (unstable)
After $random amount of time games suddenly slowdown to less than a frame per
second and/or lock hard. Mouse is still responsive, but cannot actually click
anything. Sound either stops or loops over the same part. Launching game via
console does not show anything out of the ordinary. I've ruled out audio as
turning off audio in either game doesn't alleviate the issue.
When game locks like this, the OS is still perfectly usable - can alt-tab out,
email, browse, compile, etc. Closing the game I can re-start it again. However,
this is not entirely desirable :)
Games affected
EVE-Online Classix
EVE-Online Premium
World Of Warcraft (OpenGL mode)
I can't get EVE to run under wine debugger via relay. When I terminate the
debugger EVE then starts. I can no longer test WoW as my account expired.
EVE wrapped cedega client does not exhibit this issue, neither do native games
such as Doom3 or Quake4.
If any more information is required to help fix this issue, no matter how
small, I'm happy to help :)

Summary: winhelp: Make dropshadows on popup boxes semi-
transparent
Product: Wine

OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: programs
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
Currently, Wine winhelp renders drop shadows on popup boxes as solid black.
Windows 95 WINHLP32.EXE uses a cross-hatch pattern, so drop shadows appear
semi-transparent. I think Wine winhelp should do the same.

episode 1 racer terminal output
Install works fine; opening menu works fine; crashes after clicking play.
In winecfg I have tryed windows versions 98 and XP. I have tryed with and
without desktop emulation. I have tryed with and without the Pixel shader. All
with same result.
Any other suggestions? I would be happy to get this working; it crashes
intermittently while playing it on winXP.
I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 with wine 1.0.0 from the repo.
Thank you.

screenshot of pop-up under +relay
I have a .NET application (running with native .NET 2) which dies without a
error message if runs on its own under wine (either from wine or from the
application itself); when running under WINEDEBUG=+relay, I get a pop-up
message about unhanded exception. This is an (small) upgrade to an application
I had run successfully on wine, so it looks like the vendor might have changed
something in the new release; nonetheless, I like to be able to run the new
version, so I am hoping to get some help.
Sorry, it is a proprietary application, but I am willing to try to anything.
Obviously, when WINEDEBUG=+relay results in a pop-up unhanded exception, it is
not very useful; and there is no error message when it aborts under plain
wine...
