Yeah, duplicate of bug 15839 - There is a patch and more information there.
jwhitlock is working towards an acceptable patch for inclusion in Wine.

No. The situation remains the same, Wine 1.1.21 is still reporting Direct3D
HAL.

Summary: MinGW32: unhandled page faults and exceptions
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.57.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ibaldo(a)adinet.com.uy
- install MinGW32 and MSYS.
- go to the MSYS directory.
- wine cmd
- msys.bat (it opens an rxvt or another terminal with bash)
- ld --version
- ld --help
It doesn't display anything on rxvt or the terminal where you are running bash,
and on the console where you started wine the following error appears:
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x2d656c78 at address 0x7bc42874
(thread 0026), starting debugger...
err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr
0x7bc42874
Running ld directly with Wine works:
- go to the MinGW32 directory.
- cd bin
- wine ld --version
- wine ld --help
Another (more direct) way to reproduce the fault:
- go to the MSYS directory.
- cd bin
- wine start sh (or wineconsole sh)
- cd /mingw/bin
- ./ld --help
- ./ld --version
Instead of ld you may try gcc or dlltool or windres, etc.

Shouldn't wine 1.1.20 fix this? My video card, at least, is correctly reported
now.

screenshot with wine 1.1.21
it seems like i can see a small change with Wine 1.1.21
the transparency of stones sprites still is dark black.
but there is a tiny white shadow now, and I think it was not present in 1.1.19

Dump of Adobe CS4 installation attempt.
This is with wine version 1.1.20.
It happens while installing Photoshop CS4, and i am not really sure which
errors halts the application installation or if it even uses MSI(which is the
component I choose for the registration).
To describe, the installation starts, a progress bar almost finishes and then
the error message occurs. In this dump, I pressed the "X" to close the window.
I suspect this is the same problem others are
getting(http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=14318).
I am not sure by any means, but it seems as is this might be a regression,
since some appear to have succeeded with installing
earlier(http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=14318&….
