Summary: Command and Conquer 3 Uprising doesn't work anymore

Hi,
I'm running Command and Conquer 3 Uprising since 1.1.22 in my Ubuntu 9.04
machine, using Wine official repositories Debian packets. Last Saturday, I did
a upgrade to 1.1.26, as usual, and the game stop working. It just freezes in
splash screen, without any error message displayed. To be sure, I downgraded to
1.1.25 and it backs to work normally.
I can't tell if others games are having the same kind of problems, but I think
it's very likely, maybe a problem with new feature "Faster bitmap stretching
using XRender".
If you need more information, please, contact me.
Thanks a lot,
Alexandre

With today's Git (wine-1.1.25-487-gf59a309), when the "Download Place Database

attempts to retrieve the relevant file. Instead of working as expected, the
installer simply hangs at "Getting file information..." and the download
attempt cannot be aborted. winedbg seems to indicate that the download thread
is hung trying to read from the stream:

Backtrace of crash when about to prompt for a username and password
Xenu is a website link checker that finds broken links. In general it installs
and works very well (so Silver).
It has the ability to check links that requires a username and password. When
it finds the first link like this, the application prompts the user for a
username and password. Under wine, it is at this point the application or wine
crashes. The window to prompt for username and password doesn't appear.
If you disable the prompting for username and password feature, the application
no longer crashes, it just notes that it couldn't check that link because
authentication was required.
So you can avoid crashes by disabling the 'Ask for password or certificate when
needed' option under 'Options' -> 'Settings'. This make the application very
stable, but of course you will not be able to check links that require password
access.
Backtrace attached.
Information about this free-to-use application, including download links are in
the App DB (URL on this bug).

Console output during game launch
When running the game Starfleet Command, the display flickers rapidly from
total black to normal repeatedly, whilst in-game. The game menus, installation
screens and intro movie all work fine. The game itself appears to work okay in
all other respects.
No output appears on the command line when the flickering takes place, but I
have attached a log of console output during game startup that may or may not
be relevant.

or anchor at the end fails with this message:
Error showing url: The specified location is not supported
Launching the same URL with winebrowser using type http:// works.
Launching the same URL with winebrowser using type file:// without the query or
anchor works.
Tested under 0.9.51 and current git (wine-1.1.24-294-g9d71c13)
Example of how to reproduce:
Go to http://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/introduction and save the page
(I saved it to Desktop/testing in this example)
Four tests - the final one shows the problem:
This works opening the Wine user guide introduction page:
$ wine winebrowser 'http://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/introduction'
This works opening the Wine user guide introduction page:
$ wine winebrowser 'file:///c:/user/jsmith/Desktop/testing/Introduction.html'
This works opening the Wine user guide introduction page at section "1.1.2
Further Questions and Comments":
$ wine winebrowser
'http://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/introduction#AEN11'
This doesn't open the Wine user guide introduction page at all (should open
section 1.1.2 same as above):
$ wine winebrowser
'file:///c:/user/jsmith/Desktop/testing/Introduction.html#AEN11'

After upgrading to 1.1.24, I can't see any 3d models or graphics in this game,
2d menus/interface works, but remains on the screen when I start game in 3D.
All I can see is multiple copies of polygons filled with 1 or 2 textures, they
remain on the screen until some other polygon won't overlap them. Very few
polygons are actually drawn. Screenshots are attached.
