Summary: VB6 crashes while trying to start simple sample
program
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.0
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: oleaut32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
While trying to reproduce bug 5180 / bug 5181, I found that vb6
installs fine with no futzing whatsoever if you run with +relay
(without it, it crashes quickly). I then tried running the Dancing Mouse
example program. Pressing 'Run' used to work, but now crashes with
Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000004 in 32-bit code
(0x7e955213).

winetricks vcrun6 + overriding oleaut32 to native works around the problem.

Console output
Since Wine version 0.9.53 Age of Empires III (maybe other apps too?) crash at
startup. Placing some native dlls in system32 dir didn't help. This bug was
confirmed already in Wine 0.9.55 and is still present.

Summary: Wrong temp folder created/passed back.

Platform: PC

When I try to install the new beyond the sword patch (3.19) I get an error
like;
fixme:msi:MSI_OpenDatabaseW open failed r = 80030003 for
L"\\C:\\windows\\temp\\{086B718C-78A8-4F85-857B-EAFD6658B6E2}\\{32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989}\\vcredist.msi"
Which makes sense as the folder creates in c:\windows\temp is
'{A6DDB50F-18CA-4500-9968-D7EB5069AD42}' so it wouldn't be able to open the
non-existent temp folder '{086B718C-78A8-4F85-857B-EAFD6658B6E2}'.
I am using Ubuntu 9.04, and using the debs provided by winehq.
The full log in case it helps;

PokerStars table maximised (failed to stretch) (PS 3.848 on Wine 1.3.5)
I took this image via "scrot -s" right after maximising the table window. As
soon as scrot took the screenshot, it triggered the PokerStars table to stretch
to what is apparently its maximum of 1320x910.

I'm using FreeBSD 8.1-STABLE
Following patches have to be applied to compile wine for amd64 architecture.
http://drop.io/wine_fbsd64http://people.freebsd.org/~ivoras/wine/
It's possible to implement this patch (even partially), to compile wine for
x64? Or any work that could be done by wine team to make it easier to compile?
See this thread as well:

especially #3
Thanks.
