Yes, issue still exists in Wine 1.3.7 (actually, I am using latest git as today
17 Nov 2010).
Patch from comment #17 still works for me, and gives nice smoke.
~/src/wine-git$ patch -p1 <../wine-shaders.patch
patching file dlls/wined3d/glsl_shader.c
Hunk #1 succeeded at 4592 with fuzz 1 (offset 981 lines).

Error message in a window says "Error:Creation failed: Could not match desired
fullscreen mode"
When trying to start the game, a splash screen gets displayed and goes through
several init steps. It crashed at the "Init Engine" step with an error message
"Error:Creation failed: Could not match desired fullscreen mode" (see 1st
attachment). The console window displays many error messages like this one
"err:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_IsPixelFormatCompatibleWithRenderFmt Unable to check
compatibility for Format=WINED3DFMT_R32G32B32A32_FLOAT" (see 2nd attachment).
In the end, I can't play civilization IV using wine. :(
My setup :
Civilization IV Complete edition (DVD from retail, includes WARLORDS and BEYOND
THE SWORD expansion packs)
Ubuntu 9.10
wine 1.39
nvidia geforce 7300 LE, using proprietary driver v. 185.18.36
I also tried installing d3d9 using winetricks. It did not help.

Hello everyone... I don't know if you will see my post, but I was wondering if
this bug has been solved ?
I am using Wine 1.2.1, with Xubuntu 10.10, on an Acer 1360, and... What a
surprise, Fallout is extremely slow and cursor is terribly lagging ;D
Do you think I am one more victim of this #6033 bug, or such an old computer
won't be able to run Fallout through Wine ?

domelem_get_dataType()/xmlnode_get_nodeTypedValue() + element dump patch
Clearly it's expecting a real dt:dt there... try this one with a
+tid,+msxml,+variant log please. Don't expect it to fix anything, just gives
more debugging output.

Summary: Propellerheads Reason 4.0 fails to start on 1.1.30 and

Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.30
Platform: x86

This a regression issue - the only visible error is through the program. The
error "this application cannot run because of an unknown error" pops up.
This appeared to work fine before 1.1.30, so this is probably a regression.

Far2 incorrectly downsized using mouse
** The previous two comments related to maximizing/restoring Far window using
Alt+F9. **
And the last problem with the current implementation.
Using mouse you can upsize Far window successfully (it will resize itself to
fit a new space), but you cannot downsize it - Far client window will stay the
same and scrollbars will appear.
