After I install the game, the game runs fine, but no matter how I set the

music slider works fine.

Native mshtml has its own problems, but installing IE6 helps.

Created an attachment (id=32376)

console output running the installer and the game.
I have downloaded the demo version of this game from here:
http://www.denda.com/nl/download/free/1180
The demo installes fine. When I run the game, a window with the following
options comes up: "Speel nu"(=play now), "Koop volledige versie"(=buy full
version), and "Activeer de game"(=Activate the game). I click on "Speel nu".
Now a window with the following options comes up: "Speel Nu" and "Koop
volledige versie". Now I click on "Speel nu". Now I see a loading screen, a
screen from alawar game, and then I can type in my player name. When I click
"OK", I hear a click, but there's no further action.
I have to use top to kill the game.
The log file of the game itself shows the following:
~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Denda Publishers/The Treasures of
Montezuma/Objects.log
Begin log
Ver.1.06
Creating Direct3D object... Ok
Creating Renderer... Ok
Creating game... Ok
Init stuf... Ok
Texture Loading Destruction.
Error! Unable to create Profile! Player
This problem is solved by creating the following directory:
$ mkdir ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Denda\ Publishers/The\ Treasures\ of\
Montezuma/Players/
I have not yet tested this in windows, so it could be a problem of the game
installer instead of wine
Best regards,
Cedric

Summary: King's Quest Collection Series (1997): setup.exe
thinks machine has no CD-ROM drive
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.7
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tristan_schmelcher(a)alumni.uwaterloo.ca
When attempting to install the game King's Quest Collection Series (the 1997
edition), setup.exe performs a system test and wrongfully determines that the
machine has no CD-ROM drive. It displays a message about this, but it doesn't
prevent installation from continuing (though installation does ultimately fail
due to bug 25305). I'm marking this as minor since it didn't appear to cause
any problems (but who knows what it might have meant further down the line if
installation had succeeded).
Same behaviour in wine 1.3.6 and 1.2.0.
Terminal output shows nothing relevant.
