Summary: Ubuntu 8.04.2 (64bit), WINE 1.1.23 not opening any
apps, attached crash report from one app
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.23
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tom(a)capi7.ca
After upgrading to 1.1.23, wine seemed to not work at all. I only use it for a
couple of applications, specifically a game for my wife called Scrubbles.
When trying to start the game, nothing happened, then a series of crash reports
started showing up on the desktop in ~1 minute intervals. I could not read the
contents at all, but you might be able to, so i ahve attached a copy of one.
I tried other wine-dependant apps and could not run them either so I
uninstalled 1.1.23 and installed the last good (for me) version 1.1.22 and
everything seems fine now.
Let me know if there is any other info needed and where to find it/how to
access it (in detail please).
Thanks.

Well, at least one factor is that it's from Anastasius, and Wine doesn't accept
anonymous contributions.

Don't know exactly what's going on here, but the buildbot is seeing
lots of these failures at the moment.

When the latest version of spotify is run using wine on Ubuntu, the new user
agreement pops up. Before this is properly loaded a "spotify has encountered a
serious problem and needs to close" box comes up. Nothing can be done but to
click 'close'. I've reported this to spotify via get satisfaction.

After trying the latest windows genuine advantage I found that it will still
validate wine as genuine, however because of a bug in msxml3 it will not give
back the code it created. It doesn't return an error on native msxml, so it
seems to be a bug in wine's implementation.
