Summary: Remove link to spam-infested Google Groups page from
http://www.winehq.org/help
Product: WineHQ.org
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: www-unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dimesio(a)earthlink.net
The Forum section of http://www.winehq.org/help currently includes this
sentence:
"An alternate way to access our forums is via the Google Groups page at
comp.emulators.ms-windows.wine."
This is simply not true; the Google Groups page has nothing to do with our
forum, and never has. While the group may at one time have been a legitimate
site for Wine questions, at present it is almost entirely spam, much of it for
porn. We really should not be directing users to it from our support page.

I agree. This has never worked right and is no longer worth the effort to
maintain the link.
I have committed the patch to remove the link to the usenet groups.

I have a problem, similar to the autoconf one.
I have ubuntu 10.10 x86_64, wine 1.3.14
I followed the instructions from
http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit
Ubuntu way
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get build-dep wine1.3
then I applied patches (no warnings)
autoconf, configure, make - passed okay.
but when i try to run a program - i receive the annoying
WINEDIB=on /opt/winedib/bin/winecfg
err:driver:Load_Dib_Driver Couldn't load DIB Engine
err:driver:Load_Dib_Driver Couldn't load DIB Engine
err:driver:Load_Dib_Driver Couldn't load DIB Engine
err:driver:Load_Dib_Driver Couldn't load DIB Engine
Any ideas?

> Xinput2 patch, fixed for commit 179b862738aae3b84b87c8e421cef868fe60e87e
I do see one issue with this patch: as the mouse moves outside the game window
rather odd things can happen to mouse clicks. I haven't tested very thoroughly
yet, but it looks as if both the game with focus *and* the window under the
cursor receive clicks.
This may be a bit window manager dependent. I'll try and do some more careful
testing, but there may be a problem here...

Log of crash.
After you select the extension handlers and hit next on the installer, I get
the message:
"The program _INS5576._MP has encountered a serious problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I have attached the log from wine.
