Thx Again. Adding maxcups=1 to grub and removing the patch fixed booth for me.
No more drops by client timed out and no more freezes.

I just reported a similar bug to this and think some of you may have that bug
instead of this one. Look at bug 26195. Similar to comment 33 this is only for
multi core systems, but the other bug isn't random. (Adding maxcpus=1 to
kernel options fix my bug too though)

Crash log after intro video (or scene 1)
Each time the scene changes in Bone: Out of Boneville (CD version) it crashes.
I have attached crash logs for the crash after the intro (or scene 1) and after
the first puzzle (or scene 2). I managed to get passed the intro crash by
copying a save game from a windows machine as I thought I would only crash
after the intro but I found out it crashes after each scene is completed.
Running the Xider CD release of the original Bone: Out of Boneville (not the
directors cut) on Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 with Wine 1.3.14 and nVidia official
drivers version 260.19.06.

I have the 4 CD set, and it installs fine on Windows, but
on Linux the install slows to a crawl. The discs are SmartE protected;
it has a few unreadable blocks, and doing a naive cp -a of the disc
contents also slows to a crawl. Neither ever seems to complete.
