Fixed, per Anastasius.
Any other Securom bugs that are still present in current wine -> new bug,
unless a bug already exist for that (major) version of Securom.

Hello,
--- quote ---
Problem relevant to specific SecuROM versions??
I have:
[Game] [SecuROM version]
Homeworld 2 1.0 - 4.84... Works
Homeworld 2 1.1 - 5.00... detects "CD Emulation"
Star Wars: KotOR2 - 5.03... Works
F.E.A.R. - 7.11... Works
Bioshock 1.0 - 7.34... Works
--- quote ---
Of course, yes!
I've already told several times for SafeDisc and friends: these meta-bugs are
too generic and only confuse people -> need to die.
Many appdb entries are badly maintained regarding these meta-bugs, giving false
impression or even misinformation.
It's better to track individual issues for each major version if present.
There are lots of games that just work of the box if users would follow simple
rules like making sure that the media is properly registered within Wine.
Another example: "Fallout 3" (only the launcher)

Hello,
--- quote ---
Would you prefer one bug per game, or one bug per major version of safedisc, or
...?
--- quote ---
Per major version e.g.:
SafeDisc v1, v2, v3, v4
SecuROM v3, v4, v5, v7
(some versions like SafeDisc v4 and SecuROM v7 might be worth to be split
further due to different feature sets)
...
Don't just create them as placeholder, only on demand.
People should test games using recent Wine versions, figuring out _exact_ copy
protection version (gathered using various signature/CD Protection scanners or
info from forums).
If the issue is related to copy protection, add the game to that specific major
version bug, stating exact Wine version and if possible compiler version used
to create Wine.
Some bugs/crash reports are not related to copy protection at all and get
lost/overlooked due to this metabug noise.

I have installed Need for speed underground 2 on wine 1.2 RC 3.
I am running Kubuntu 10.04 on a 64-bit dual core AMD system.
I still get the "Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart
application" message when I start the game. I presume its the copy protection
talking there, right? Wine is pointing to the correct cdrom path and the CD is
mounted when I run the game.
--- quote ---
No problems either.

Media validation works fine.
The installer is a bit picky about working folder (only run directly from CD1
mount point).
You can copy AutoRun.exe and AutoRunGUI.dll off CD1 to another (temp) folder
and run "AutoRun.exe" from there (do 'wine eject' and (auto)mount when it asks
for CD2).
--- quote ---
> Could someone remove "Need for Speed Underground 2" from list of "Show Apps

--- quote ---
I'd rather close these stupid metabugs ... everyone keeps adding "dupes" and
the list gets longer and longer without actually targeting specific
versions/issues.
Many appdb entries are not properly maintained/tested due to this metabug,
giving false impression.

Patches sent:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2011-June/102875.html
This modifies both the server and user driver, so it's unlikely to get in on
the first try.
There are still some limitations, mainly that Wine programs will only be able
to see keyboard input when a Wine program has the focus or a registered hotkey
is pressed, and that simulated keystrokes from Wine programs will only work
within Wine. This means that synergy will probably still not work, and it
limits what AHK scripts can do. Neither of those limitations can be fixed.

Hi,
I would just like to confirm that as of today 7th June 2011, this is still an
issue. Just tested it with Dreamweaver 8.0 and Wine V1.3.15.
DW installs fine and seems to work well with pretty much everything you ask of
it until you resize or move the outer containing window, whereupon various
components of the window are not repainted and you are left with a very broken
looking screen. DW has not crashed and you can use Alt-F to get the File menu
and close down gracefully. F5 does not redraw the whole window, just the
preview area.
Workaround seems to be to just maximise DW as soon as it opens. As far as I
have been able to test so far, this seems to prevent the problem - including
Dan's reported 'New Site' bug of 2007-07-11.
Happy to perform any specific tests if it would help pin the bug down. This is
so near being perfect.
Geoff.
