plain terminal output
The game comes bundled with it's own msvcp60, msvcrt modules, it's only when
you set msvcp60=builtin, that the game crashes on start.

ArtRage starts fine when the installer asks "would you like to run it now", but
after quitting, doesn't restart in the following way:
splash screen appears, then CPU is used but no window appears (in fact a tiny
dot of a window appears in the workspace organiser window in xfce4, but not on
the actual desktop)
Using Xubuntu 12.04 and wine 1.5.5 from the winehq ppa.
WORKAROUND: before quitting the first time, set the window to not-full-screen
from the little window size icons on the right of the top panel inside artrage.
This state appears to be saved on quitting, and then it starts up properly next
time. Just remember never to set it to full screen.

Hi.
This is not exactly a bug, but i think that you should have it in mind. I dont
know how can it be related to wines internal behavior or not.
I only play one game. Tactical Ops 3.5
This game uses Unreal99 Engine.
It works in Wine as a Gold and sadly with at most 30 fps with all builtin.
With only one override it can grow to 70 fps in the same test conditions.
This native is msvcp60.dll
The game runs better with this dll present on the system. I dont know why or
what does this dlls or why the game can run without it but, it does makes a
difference.
I think that this override can improve all Unreal99 based games.
Close this bug if you think that it is invalid. I post to contribute and
documentate to other looking for the same issue.

When you press and hold left mouse button to draw something in the application,
the cursor remains frozen at the starting position until you release the mouse
button. Therefore you cannot see what you're drawing on the canvas. Only when
you release the mouse button, your drawing becomes visible.
The problem appeared in Wine 1.5.13 and is still present in 1.5.15:

winex11: Use window surfaces for rendering top-level windows.
It can be disabled by setting "ClientSideGraphics"="n".

Setting "ClientSideGraphics"="N" in the registry works around the problem.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. install the application, then start it with ArtRage 2 Starter Edition.exe
2. close the splash screen as it appears
3. try to draw something on the empty canvas: press and hold left mouse button
and move the mouse...you should see that the drawing is invisible until you
release the left mouse button
When you start the application the first time, switch it to windowed mode
(window size icon in the top toolbar) otherwise you may encounter bug #30878
when you restart the application next time.

Terminal output on Wine-1.2-rc2 after clicking Continue
Steps to reproduce:
1) remove ~/.wine
2) do default installation of ue_english.msi downloaded from given url
(IMPORTANT)
3) wine Uedit32.exe
4) close all popup windows (buy now, tip of the day etc.)
5) "Help->Check for Updates" new window will appear
6) "Download Update Now!" wait till it downloads updates
7) press "Continue" if prompted to shut down UltraEdit in order to begin
updating process
Behaviour:
Fatal Error window with following message
"Installation ended prematurely because of an error."
Expected behaviour:
UltraEdit should update itself to newer version
Additional info:
I tried to update from version 16.10.0.1025 to 16.10.0.1027

The game installs the required MS VC++ runtime libraries, it's only when you
set msvcp80,msvcr80=builtin that the game crashes before the main menu could
appear.
