If you query for bugs older than 180 days, this is true: http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?chfieldto=Now&query_format=advanced&chfi… 0 results. However, if you take a date ranged query and examine individual issues, then you notice that this rule does not work in practice. In this example take all open issues from 2006: http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&type0-1-0=lessthan… For example bug 5552 was updated, according entries, the last time more than a year ago. However, it was modified in 2011-11-23 when a component was changed by a wine maintainer/developer. The conclusion: The policy, that states that bugs should closed if there has been no activity for 6 months, does not work in practice because changes in components by maintainers are recorded as changes to bugs, whereas imho only logger and solver changes should qualify for changes. Therefore a lot of old bugs that should be marked as abandoned, but are just sticking in bugzilla forever, because 6 moth query is hiding them from helping hands. I suspect that the issue is depthbias related.
