It is written in VB, so winetricks vb6run is required. It complaints at start on lack of MFC42.DLL, so I did $winetricks mfc42 But even after that, program crashes with messages: $ wine Charon.exe wine: Call from 0x7b839cf2 to unimplemented function msvcirt.dll.??0ofstream@@QAE@XZ, aborting wine: Unimplemented function msvcirt.dll.??0ofstream@@QAE@XZ called at address 0x7b839cf2 (thread 0009), starting debugger... SSH to the box works fine). This started to happen since Wine 1.4-rc6. Previous versions worked fine (at least for me - but I can't really tell if it's not because of the level I'm in). Absolutely nothing in console: tommy@TommyPC:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Doom 3$ wine Doom3.exe fixme:wbemprox:wbem_locator_ConnectServer 0x1312c8, L"\\\\.\\root\\CIMV2", (null), (null), (null), 0x00000000, (null), (nil), 0x2f6fb54) This happens both in fullscreen mode, wine-managed window mode, and windowed mode. Tried to use different sound drivers, but no luck. After ~20 seconds game again works fine and I can alt-tab out of it. Instead, the alert stays on forever, and the game locks up. The only way out is to force a power down of the computer and to turn it back on. Sometimes, this results in the data loss on the FAT32 partition the game is on. Such KDE alerts are as follows: -- a large bubble identifying the program the arrow is pointing at in the taskbar -- a bubble in kopete messenger indicating the message the sender is sending -- a box from kopete indicating one's online status.
