Bug #: 31077
Summary: Fallout 3 can't run after full instilation
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.5
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: kernel32

Wine Ver: wine-1.5.5, Game: Fallout 3
After the game fully installs with no problems it looked like Wine could handle
it. Once I tried to play the game a window poped-up saying the application
Falloutlauncher.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to be closed.
I'm investigating ways to try to get it to run in case no one else is able to
fix the problem.

1.3.37 output from start till main menu is shown
I have upgraded wine from 1.3.18 to 1.3.37, and my Medieval 2: Total War Steam
installation has become considerably slower - the initial loading takes longer
and there are glitches when I am in main menu. Campaign map scrolling is also
laggy while before it was smooth. Rolling back to 1.3.18 solves the problem -
everything works good again.

Summary: Touhou 12.5, 12.8, and 13 cannot access save data
Product: Wine
Version: 1.4.1
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Mac OS X
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2

Classification: Unclassified
In Touhou 12.5 (Double Spoiler), Touhou 12.8 (Fairy Wars), and Touhou 13 (Ten
Desires), Wine versions 1.5.5, 1.5.6, and 1.4.1 (there may be more) are unable
to access configuration data, save data, and replays from drive_c's Application
Data (/ShanghaiAlice/th###).
>From testing, it seems that new config data, replays, and score data cannot be
saved either, rendering the entire system based on replays and unlockables
unusable.
This problem was first found on Mac OSX Lion, and it was found when I used Wine
Version 1.5.5. It has not been fixed since then, and it was not present in 1.4
or 1.2.3. This may be a unique problem, but there is a chance that wine is
unable to access data from the folders. There is, of course, no error log since
it is not an actual "error," and the games in question run fine otherwise.
If this problem is not solved, it may affect future Touhou game releases.

Summary: Sims 3 fails to validate disc
Product: Wine
Version: 1.4
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux

Logs created by PlayOnLinux
When trying to start The Sims 3, I can start the launcher and see the games
intro video followed by the loading screen. After that I get an ingame message
that "Disc authorization failed. It could not be checked whether the disc is a
valid The Sims 3 disc or not. Please contact customer support." and the game
exits.
The disc seems to be recognized at /dev/sr0 (according to winecfg) which also
shows a serial for the CD. It's automatically assigned letter "D:" and set as
"Network share" (cannot change this). The mounting point "/media/Sims3" seems
to be correct.
The games checks for the CD two times: The first check right after starting the
game from launcher is passed successfully if the CD is in the CD drive. The
second fails every time I try to start the game.
I'm attaching two debug logs created by playonlinux which I used to install the
game.
I also installed vcrun6, vcrun2010, vcrun2005, d3dx9, dotnet20sp2 and mono210
(because there was an error message in the logs that said to install mono)
using playonlinux. I also installed the official EA patches and brought the
game to the latest version.
Further I adjusted settings as described in the appdb: GLSL disabled, Offscreen
Rendering: fbo, Direct Draw: opengl.
I don't see any graphic problems so far.
This all happens on up-to-date Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Could there maybe be a permissions problem?
Please let me know if you need any further information.

Summary: for some apps wine update forces reinstalls
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.3
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bluedzins(a)wp.pl
It applies not for all applications. It is not only the problem with current
version of Wine, because it happened before.
Take for example Great PWN Dictionary -- you install wine, you install this
app, everything works fine. But when you update wine something is changed in
that way that this app is corrupted and it (not wine) says the installation was
not successful, reinstall is required. After reinstall everything is fine again
until... next wine update. And so on.
I know there is not much details here, please ask what should I add, I will
help for sure.
