The tool is based on videos (.mpg) and follow-up activities. The built-in video player will not run. However the videos can be played using the "VLC Media player". It seems a bit more obvious when compositing is enabled (but still happens without it). So rather than closing it crashes. Severity does not seem overwhelming as it has not failed to flush its files due to these crash. I have made no special changes (no patches) to my installation to play this game. The AppDB suggests installing some native DLL files, which I haven't done - since single player version ran fine without. However, after discussing with some of the Gstreamer guys : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=644418 , they seem to hint that the issue could be related to how wine handle Gstreamer. Bug 25511 is about quartz, I'm labeling this one to winegstreamer, unless a maintainer disagrees. The games crash right after the intro videos, when the main menu is about to be loaded. The main culprit line is: err:gstreamer:push_data_init Obtaining buffer returned: -2 I use Gentoo Linux X64, and I have the gst-plugins-meta and emul-linux-x86-soundlibs packages installed. Hence I do not believe that the issue is due to a lack of plugins.
