In Irfanview, users should be able to select the TWAIN source via file ->

let users pick which scanner to use. In Wine, no dialog box ever comes up, so
the program uses the first TWAIN source it finds, which is the gphoto2 driver.

With wine-1.1.35-180-g20a50f3, after launching Hitman: Contracts, mouse press
events at the main menu are ignored by the game. Since a user reported that the
game worked normally in wine-1.1.9, a regression test was performed, which
indicated:

Wine built prior to the indicated commit allows mouse input to work normally.
Interestingly, doing graphical mode changes (via keyboard input) makes mouse
input work again. The AppDB also suggests adding the strings:
UseDirectInputMouse
UseDirectInputKeyboard
to the HitmanContracts.ini configuration file to have mouse input work. The
only visible output under wine-1.1.35-180-g20a50f3 is:

The executable (paint/PAINT.EXE) is the Windows 1.0 version of Paint. Wine
properly recognises it as a "very old" Windows executable, but after doing
that, Wine thinks that it is a DOS executable and tries to launch Dosbox.
Dosbox gives the usual message: "This program requires Microsoft Windows." The
lines about the old executable come from Wine while the rest of the lines come
from Dosbox.

In Windows it is the default behavior if double click the icon in the title bar
of a window it closes the window. Would it not be better if this also true in
Wine? Users of Windows software would expect such behavior.
May be this is optional and is only behaving like this if you turn of the
decoration of the windows (Which are Windows applications) through the window
manager. If the decoration through the window manager is turn off the window
have the "Windows window borders".

There is a small issue with file selection dialogs which some programs use.
When the dialog opens, it shows the files in some directory in the right pane,
and a tree view of the directory hierarchy in the left pane. The tree view
shows Favorites and Desktop (which is expanded to show My Computer, My
Documents, Trash, /).
If you then click on any of the + or - symbols in the tree view, the view in
the right pane jumps to Favorites. For example, click the + next to My Computer
and the view on the right changes to Favorites (which may be empty).
The directory shown in the right pane should probably not change when the user
clicks a + or - symbol in the left pane.
WinUAE is one program which uses that type of file dialog. To show the problem,
download and run the WinUAE installer, check the box to run the program at the
end. When the WinUAE Properties window appears, click "Select image file" to
open a file selection dialog.

Actually, warhammer is playable at decent speed.
The troubleshooting is starting the game, or charging a map (mission, campaign,

It requires arround 10min to have the first game menu...
And it requires other 10minutes if you want to play.
The game is unplayble since it requires 20minutes to start gaming.
But the game itself even with highest options work very well.
The problem is the same with older wine versions.
And apparently the Warhammer mark of chaos (whitout battle march addon
installed)
Have the same loading problem.

This test keeps overwriting the same file with new data, iirc.
The previous thing it wrote was "command on path", so it looks
like the immediately previous testcase sometimes leaves a reference dangling?
I think 0x80070020 is "sharing violation".

I pretty sure this is regression, however I can't verify this right now.
Judging from appdb comments, problems have continued at least from 0.9.49.

So, let's make it play better:

An app I'm looking at is doing
TRACKMOUSEEVENT tme;
tme.cbSize = sizeof(TRACKMOUSEEVENT);
tme.dwFlags = TME_LEAVE;
tme.hwndTrack = my_hWnd;
TrackMouseEvent(&tme);
which causes the following valgrind complaint:
Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s)
at TrackMouseEvent (input.c:1043)
by MyTrackMouseLeave (in app)
...
Uninitialised value was created by a stack allocation
at MyTrackMouseLeave (in app)
Looking at git blame user32/input.c, I see line 1043 is the if:
hover_time = ptme->dwHoverTime;
if (hover_time == HOVER_DEFAULT || hover_time == 0 ||
!(ptme->dwHoverTime&TME_HOVER))
Squinting at that a bit, it get the feeling the bitmask check is a typo;
shouldn't that be dwFlags, not dwHoverTime?
Also, if TME_HOVER is not set, we probably shouldn't
be looking at dwHoverTime, right?
FWIW, that bitmask check was added by
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2006-October/031794.html
Incidentally, while playing around, I noticed that the test
crashes if you get too many events. I'll attach a little patch to
fail more gracefully.

After installing Steam in a new profile and then using it to download and
install Portal, the game runs perfectly except for unreadable dialog captions.
(see attachment Portal-glitch02.png)
The screenshot illustrates how the sound effects captions in white are fine,
only the dialog captions in red with italics are affected.
I've tried reducing all graphics options and resolutions, to no avail. It looks
like something specific to font rendering - the bounding box for the characters
is not taking into account their italicization, so the rightmost pixels are
being truncated.
The exact same problem was described more than 2 years ago against Half Life 2
(which uses the same core engine) here:

Surprisingly, cygwin seems to work nowadays,
as long as you do everything inside a wineconsole
running cygwin.bat. (Perhaps cygwin apps should
work outside wineconsole; that would be a separate
bug report.)
However, cygwin's gcc doesn't work unless you
replace certain cygwin symlinks with unix ones, e.g.
$ cd .wine/drive_c/cygwin/usr/i686-pc-cygwin/bin
$ for a in *; do ln -sf ../../../bin/$a; done
Likewise, /bin/vi doesn't work, as it's a symlink to vim.exe.
In fact, cygwin's ls -l doesn't even recognize cygwin's symlinks as such:
$ ls -l vi
-rw-r--r-- 1 dank mkpasswd 18 Oct 19 05:53 vi
$ cat vi
!<symlink>vim.exe
So either they're not being created right, or they're
not being recognized properly by cygwin for some reason,
or both.

Hi,
if you try to use a saved game in Crysis 2 which is patched to a higher level
than 1.0, you will have huge graphical issues. Either you get a black scree
with only the hud displayed, or completely broken graphics, or a whiet screen
etc..
This does only happen if you use a savegame or if you want to replay a mission.
If you start the campaign from the beginning, the game will look fine.
This behaviour happens with tons of wine version i have testet, so doesnt seem
to be a regression right now.
CryEngine 3 is planned to be used in other upcoming games and is somehow a
engine which really pushes d3d9 to its limits.I think it would make a lot of
sense to get this issue fixed .
Many thanks,
Christian

Summary: tablet pressure sensitivity not working in Sai and many
other key graphic applications
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.56.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wintab32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: blurymind(a)gmail.com
tablet pressure sensitivity still not working on crucial graphic software that
is made to be used with tablets.
I am not sure if thats due wintab32,because im not a developer.
Applications like SAI that are wonderfully small ,full featured and even better
than photoshop for CG coloring (better brushes,other key features) work almost
perfectly fine on wine, but their practically useless when tablet pressure
doesnt work..
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=11044
another application that is a freeware and a fine substitute for painter is
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7425&iTestingI…
tablet pressure works on photoshop and artrage,but not on many other key
applications in the graphic world that crucially depend on it. This feature is
very important,since there are absolutely no alternatives to these applications
on linux (if you study their key features you'll see there arent any on windows
too at the moment,especially Sai). The applications work almost perfectly on
wine,but that lack of this feature stops people from taking advantage of that.
Another application is Open Canvas...
But especially Sai- If there is any hack or workaround to get pressure
sensitivity working on sai, even a patch..i would gladly test it and report any
progress on Sai on wine.

The Log
You can reproduce it follow this:
0. download and install it:
md5sum Downloads/YNote.exe
8c790463479ee83fa56a8a896aafe9e9 Downloads/YNote.exe
BTW, I select no when it asked me to install Youdao Dict.
1. run it '~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Youdao/YoudaoNote$ wine
YoudaoNote.exe'
2. login
If you are the frist time run it, it will sync automatically and crash. If not
you can reproduce it by create a new note and click the "同步" button to sync and
it will crash.
And I found 'winetrick -q ie7' helps a lot.
My test environment:
- Ubuntu 12.10 32bit
- wine-1.5.19-272-gf30c18f
