To install EAs, you click on the "Download" link of the EA. For example, on this page... http://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/1870 This redirects to a URL of the form, "mql4buy://1870.PZ%20Goldfinch%20Scalper%20EA/free". On Windows, this starts an instance of Metatrader terminal.exe with the remainder of the URL passed as a parameter e.g. terminal.exe "//1870.PZ Goldfinch Scalper EA/free" This either starts Metatrader, or if it is already running, installs the EA and exits. The first part of the bug is that mql4buy URLs are not handled correctly by Wine Explorer i.e. they are not passed to terminal.exe as they are on a real Windows installation. The second issue is that even if the URL is fed to terminal.exe manually, it does nothing. The EA is not installed. The same problem exists using MT5, 64 bit. A demo version is available on Steam, but I couldn't test it as I have the full version. http://store.steampowered.com/app/55150/ Steam installs MSVC++ 2005 runtime libraries and various DirectX components the first time you start the game. Disabling gameoverlayrenderer in winecfg doesn't help. I tested this bug with Wine 1.2.3, 1.4.1, 1.5.20. The cursor in Rise of Nations and it's expansion Thrones and Patriots ignores right-clicks and left-clicks. Clicking BOTH left and right mouse button acts as a left click. There is a workaround. Editing the rise2.ini file, setting "ForceGDICursor=1" allows the cursor/mouse to behave normally. It also corrects a transparency problem with the cursor. Open the attached testcase, or anything else with a toolbar (I did nothing weird with the testcase). 2. Click and hold the mouse on any non-disabled toolbar button 3. Move the mouse to any other toolbar button, disabled or not; release the mouse Expected result: The button is not activated, since the mouse was depressed while hovering over another button. This is also the result on Windows 7 64bit. Actual result: The button is activated. This can even be done if the button is disabled, which can give all kinds of strange results in apps that assume disabled buttons are not triggerable. To guarantee there is no weird config nearby, I have tested it with a live CD in a virtual machine. Linux Mint 15 MATE, 64bit; wine1.6-0ubuntu1. Similarily, it will page fault when using "save to" most of the time. That makes it impossible to use these functions. It doesn't appear to be a regression (I have witnessed this on all versions from 1.3.7 to 1.7.9). Using native comctl32.dll solves the crashing. I am currently running WINE v.0.9.46 (the same problem exists in the CVS version as well). If you use native comctl32.dll or in windows you'll see tooltips over these partly covered items, displaying full item name. Wine won't show anything. This is true with listview also. In some applications that have big listview tables with long values this bug becomes pretty annoying (when you constantly have to change comlumn widths etc in order to see complete values). It should say 'None' (or the local equivalent) initially. (The caret is positioned properly, though.) 'winetricks comctl32' works around the problem. Wine's control works fine in a standalone demo. The problem exists in many versions of the app, including the 7.12 Student Version downloadable from various sites as ledit.zip, 2972402 bytes, sha1sum f1a5825e63cee03f2cfb912cfa8d47c5a22aa684 That version requires 'winetricks mfc42' to start, and warns about wanting 256 color mode. Here is how I invoke winscp under wine: WINEDEBUG=fixme-all wine "c:/program files/winscp/winscp" Background: WinSCP is a very nice GUI front end for Subversion (svn). You can read about it and download it here: http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ TortoiseSVN should not be run across a network when the Icon Overlays feature is enabled. http://tortoisesvn.net/node/138 http://tortoisesvn.net/node/267 However, TortoiseSVN's icon overlay feature is one of the program's major assets. I want to use Cygwin's xterm to connect to the samba server that holds the svn checkout directory and use Wine to run TortoiseSVN locally on that server. The user would be presented with a nice visual representation of the state of their checked out Subversion project, and performance would be good. On Windows, TortoiseSVN can display its icons in any file chooser window, and in Windows Explorer. I have also found that WinSCP's explorer view will show icons for the local machine. I would prefer not to have to run WinSCP in order to view TortoiseSVN icons. Perhaps a tiny Win32 program that merely shows a file dialog would be sufficient to run in an xterm, if Wine would support whatever system calls TortoiseSVN makes. For me, and many other programmers and IT personnel who work in a mixed Windows/Linux environment, Wine would be much more useful if there was a way to run it under Wine. The unnecessary scrollbars can obscure much of the text if the popup is small. If you click one of the scrollbar buttons the scrollbars disappear. There used to be a workaround for this bug posted in wine's app database, but it got deleted. Steps to reproduce: 1. Easy enough to trigger. 1. Open table and be seated 2. Change workspace so you can no longer see the table, and wait for the application to alert you that its your turn. 3. Return to the workspace the table is supposed to be on and you will find it has disappeared. The application is definitely still running, and the table window is definitely still active (you can here the alert sounds and cards being dealt) When I came across this issue initially, it didn't occur when using metacity as a window manager. I noticed this while testing WinUAE, but presumably any program which uses the same type of dialog will be similar. - Download and run the WinUAE installer. Check the box to run the program at the end. - When the WinUAE Properties window appears, click ROM in the treeview then click one of the "..." buttons to show a file selection dialog. There is no parent button in the dialog. App installs and opens correctly (Both latest 3.9.2 and earlier 3.8 tested) Once open, connect to an FTP site in Site Explorer tab (tested 2 separate) Login as necessary Doubleclicking any folder in listing causes application termination. In those cases, the system attempts to create them and normally displays a dialog box to ask the user if they want to create the new directory. See the instructions in bug 11414, comment 10 for information on how to reproduce. Obviously, stubbing out MsiMergeDatabase to always succeed is not enough for the validation to work properly.
