Here is how I invoke winscp under wine: WINEDEBUG=fixme-all wine "c:/program files/winscp/winscp" Background: WinSCP is a very nice GUI front end for Subversion (svn). You can read about it and download it here: http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ TortoiseSVN should not be run across a network when the Icon Overlays feature is enabled. http://tortoisesvn.net/node/138 http://tortoisesvn.net/node/267 However, TortoiseSVN's icon overlay feature is one of the program's major assets. I want to use Cygwin's xterm to connect to the samba server that holds the svn checkout directory and use Wine to run TortoiseSVN locally on that server. The user would be presented with a nice visual representation of the state of their checked out Subversion project, and performance would be good. On Windows, TortoiseSVN can display its icons in any file chooser window, and in Windows Explorer. I have also found that WinSCP's explorer view will show icons for the local machine. I would prefer not to have to run WinSCP in order to view TortoiseSVN icons. Perhaps a tiny Win32 program that merely shows a file dialog would be sufficient to run in an xterm, if Wine would support whatever system calls TortoiseSVN makes. For me, and many other programmers and IT personnel who work in a mixed Windows/Linux environment, Wine would be much more useful if there was a way to run it under Wine. On wine, 'new 1.txt' isn't selected, so you get 'blahnew 1.txt' and when you try to save it, it fails. When I was on jaunty, I removed it, but under Karmic, you can't remove pulseaudio without foobaring gnome. So, I'm stuck with it...and since few people run winetest daily on wine aside from me, test.winehq.org shows a bunch of failures on dsound now. Uninitialised value was created by a stack allocation at MyTrackMouseLeave (in app) Looking at git blame user32/input.c, I see line 1043 is the if: hover_time = ptme->dwHoverTime; if (hover_time == HOVER_DEFAULT || hover_time == 0 || !(ptme->dwHoverTime&TME_HOVER)) Squinting at that a bit, it get the feeling the bitmask check is a typo; shouldn't that be dwFlags, not dwHoverTime? Also, if TME_HOVER is not set, we probably shouldn't be looking at dwHoverTime, right? FWIW, that bitmask check was added by http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2006-October/031794.html Incidentally, while playing around, I noticed that the test crashes if you get too many events. As I'm using Wine in 64-bit mode on a 64-bit system, I thought that there shouldn't be any memory problem, but it doesn't seem to be true. I also tried out the 4Gb patcher, still no effect. I think it comes from Wine/the system, because I played sometimes on Windows(with also 8 Gb of total RAM), and I never crashed. (see attachment Portal-glitch02.png) The screenshot illustrates how the sound effects captions in white are fine, only the dialog captions in red with italics are affected. I've tried reducing all graphics options and resolutions, to no avail. It looks like something specific to font rendering - the bounding box for the characters is not taking into account their italicization, so the rightmost pixels are being truncated. Installed fine, registered license fine. When I start it, it's stuck for a veery long time on the splash screen. When it finally disappears, it displays a very unhelpful error and then dies, regardless of whether I choose OK or Cancel. Will attach the splash screen that it's stuck on (it's there for something like 10 minutes), the error dialog and output from the terminal. Output from the terminal appears to be an endless loop, but it's not really endless - you just have to be patient. I'm on wine 1.5.16. Moving the movies or deleting them allows the game to proceed but with a reduced experience. You can hear the first second of movie audio before the game crashes. However, cygwin's gcc doesn't work unless you replace certain cygwin symlinks with unix ones, e.g. $ cd .wine/drive_c/cygwin/usr/i686-pc-cygwin/bin $ for a in *; do ln -sf ../../../bin/$a; done Likewise, /bin/vi doesn't work, as it's a symlink to vim.exe. Either you get a black scree with only the hud displayed, or completely broken graphics, or a whiet screen etc.. This does only happen if you use a savegame or if you want to replay a mission. If you start the campaign from the beginning, the game will look fine. This behaviour happens with tons of wine version i have testet, so doesnt seem to be a regression right now. CryEngine 3 is planned to be used in other upcoming games and is somehow a engine which really pushes d3d9 to its limits.I think it would make a lot of sense to get this issue fixed . Choose any dive that as performed with Aladin 2G dive computer - these are dives numbered 15, 16, 17, 18 5) Click anywhere inside the graph (depth vs time), hold LMB and scroll thruogh the graph, data shown on LCD display should change acordingly. 6) Note that whenever depth is shown on LCD (as opposed "---" that is being shown for surface part of dive) there is a graphic artifact that covers part of the LCD display. This leads many blank (or black) pages being print. How to Reproduce: Download Revolver Office from http://download.revolver.info/r7/older/revolver_office_7_0_4_win.exe Install it using the default settings. After installing, start it and do the following: - Country->USA - Single User - Enter some details and choose "Evaluation Mode" - Click "Address-Book" - Select the only entry - Select the printer icon in the toolbar - Print to the CUPS PDF driver Tested with: Ubuntu 8.10/9.04 32-and 64-bit prepackaged wine Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit wine 1.1.26 from git Preliminary analysis: Wine downloads the font glyphes correctly into the postscript-file. But the font sizes written to the postscript-file are way too large, resulting in the software positioning the text blocks incorrectly. (See original_trace.txt) The trace is clearer when disabled font embedding by commenting out the check in wineps.drv. ScaleFont then reports a font size of ~40k (see no_download_trace.txt). Problem seems to be in the resolution of the hdc in use, as all numbers seems fine until processed by LPtoDP. Notes: I would be glad to help in tracking this bug. C-Skills and time is available.
