wine-1.1.26-231-gfe9d360 console output
Publisher 2007 crashes, apparently in the same way when opening a non-blank
template, or when resizing a text box. There are probably a number of ways to
cause the same crash, but the app is unusable.
DW20.EXE catches the crash, so I've made a trace with it enabled and with it
disabled (attached), not sure if this is any help though.

Waterfall is nontransparent
If AllwaysOffScreen set to disabled then the test is faster but water looks
like non-transparent surface.
If set to enable then the picture is good.

Apparently older versions of EasyPal worked with older versions of wine, but I
could not find anything newer than wine 1.1 on the digital ham radio message

EasyPal.

Summary: Saturn PCB Design Toolkit sometimes needs SHCore.dll

Stand-alone exe without installer
Execution on Wine fails due to a dependency on SHCore.dll:
err:module:import_dll Loading library SHCORE.DLL (which is needed by L"C:\\PCB
Toolkit V6.86.exe") failed (error c000012f).
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\PCB Toolkit
V6.86.exe" failed, status c0000135
While trying to get it working I installed it on WinXP to identify registry
entries and file additions via the old ZDNet installation monitor utility
InCtrl5. PCB Toolkit worked without problems there. When I attempted to find
SHCore.dll to use with Wine I discovered WinXP doesn't have it (Dependency
Walker confirmed it's missing). The Wine OS version is set to WinXP according
to winecfg yet it still requires it on Wine. WTF?
I obtained the dll from a Win8 system and the PCB Toolkit started working on
Wine. The native dll is a real pain because it has many dependencies which
vary depending on its specific version. This page lists one set of
dependencies but I had to use many different files according to the Wine errors
when it failed to load:
http://www.nirsoft.net/dll_information/windows8/shcore_dll.html
Uses Advanced Installer so bug #34989 applies but dev sent me standalone exe
(attached). Verified the sha1sum of both the standalone and the one installed
by Advanced Installer on WinXP (9412a5ae1b83ec98ef9fbc05d5588ed8cb01c7c1). It
doesn't require its reg entries but it will complain about invalid defaults at
initial start-up.

Instead, the error box show up: "The program cabal2main.exe has encountered a

Could you please help me fix this problem?
Thank you.

"fixme:nls:CompareStringEx semi-stub behavor for flag(s) 0x10000000" appears
thousands of times in terminal when running the Lego Mindstorms EV3 software
Someone seems to have already created a patch:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/attachments/20150407/c1365e15/…
This was at Tue Apr 7 04:02:17 CDT 2015, but it seems to not be incorporated
yet, as it is in Wine 1.8. If someone could incorporate this, it would be
appreciated, as it affects many applications, especially the Lego Mindstorms
EV3 software, where it appears thousands of times in the terminal.

Bug #: 34286
Summary: dinput doesn't report DIDOI_ASPECT* for joystick axes
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.0
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

Patch
Wine's dinput.dll returns 0 in the dwFlags field when enumerating joystick
objects, but some programs (at least Final Fantasy XIV) expect to see one of
the DIDOI_ASPECT* values for an axis object and ignore the axis if none are
present.
Simple patch attached -- it just reports DIDOI_ASPECTPOSITION for all axes
(which may or may not be correct, but at least lets FFXIV recognize joystick
axis input).
