Bug ID: 56726
Summary: Ability to disable wine builtin title bar and borders
Product: Wine
Version: 9.8
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: winewayland
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: Deresiant(a)protonmail.ch
Distribution: ---
Currently when running applications through wine on the wayland driver, those
windows have a titlebar and border (I think these called window decorations?)
which are provided by wine and can be configured in winecfg.
There isn't a method to disable these window decorations completely.

The following construction fails in the all 8.x versions of Wine (currently I
upgraded to version 8.7 devel) and works Ok in Wine 7.1:
MENUITEMINFO mii = {};
mii.cbSize = sizeof(mii);
mii.fMask = MIIM_STRING | MIIM_STATE;
if (pimi->iconId != -1) {
mii.fMask |= MIIM_BITMAP;
if (IsWinVerVistaPlus() && IsThemeActive()) {
if (pimi->hBmp == nullptr)
pimi->hBmp = ConvertIconToBitmap(pimi->parent->m_hMenuIcons,
pimi->iconId);
mii.hbmpItem = pimi->hBmp;
}
else mii.hbmpItem = HBMMENU_CALLBACK;
}
InsertMenuItemW(hMenu, uItem, TRUE, &mii);
I.e. if I run command 'winecfg -v win2003', then everything is Ok with icons,
otherwise I see black squares instead of icons. This code works Ok under all
versions of Windows, from XP to Windows 11, the problem is specific to Wine 8.x
under Linux (I use Kubuntu 23.04).
To see the problem you can download my open source messenger Miranda NG from
https://miranda-ng.org/downloads, just download a ZIP, run it and open main or
tray icon menu. The full source code is avalable here:
https://github.com/miranda-ng/miranda-ng, you need module menu_utils.cpp inside
mir_app, InsertMenuItemWithSeparators or BuildRecursiveMenu functions.

Anomaly launches and the main menu works perfectly, however when loading a save

Wine versions 7.x and below work perfectly fine only wine 8.x crash in this
manner.
I made sure to delete all wineprefixes and .wine folder before running the
program.

Bug ID: 46976
Summary: All games suffer from moderated to severe stuttering
with mouse polling ~1000
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: xinput
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

Description: Any game running over Wine will stutter under the next conditions:
How to reproduce:
* Use a mouse with a polling rate of 1000.
* Open any game with wine, using any frametimes measurement tool.
* Move the camera quickly in circles. You will experience severe stuttering
and frametimes spikes.
* The issue is solved when the mouse use a polling rate of 125hz
This issue DOESN'T affect linux native games. This fact has been tested with
the games:
* Bioshock: Infinite
* Portal 1
This issue DOES Affect the next Wine (non DXVK) games:
* Doom 2016
This issue DOES affect the next wine games:
* Sekiro
* Quake Champions
* The witcher 3
* Quake Champions
* Paladins
* And every other game I've tested
Wine versions tested:
* 3.16 stating + dxvk 0.61 (Can reproduce)
* 3.18 stating + dxvk 0.61 (Can reproduce)
* 3.20 tkg + dxvk 0.61 (Can reproduce)
* 4.0 + dxvk 0.61 (Can reproduce)
* 4.5 + dxvk 0.61 (Can reproduce)
* 4.5 + dxvk 1.0.2 (Can reproduce)
* 4.5 (Can reproduce) -> Pure wine on command line, no lutris, dxvk... etc.
* esync-staging-pba-3.16 + dxvk 0.61 -> This build doesn't present FPS
drops when the player move the camera. In sekiro, the camera jiggers instead.
All other games run without camera stuttering.

a video of neuralnote not updating until it is moved within the bitwig DAW
I decided to file a new bug report as
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55362 had been used to fix a different
issue related to winepulse.drv. Having two issues for one report was confusing.
The issue here is that the UI only updates after the application has been moved
around on screen (as shown in the attachment). This occurs on a fresh install
of Wine Staging and first noticed in 8.13 (but may be even older). There have
been concerns raised that this could be related to the JUCE framework, however
that is uncertain.
"...the dropdowns don't show the updated selection until a full repaint of the
settings window (by closing and opening it again).
There are possibly related messages in the log, I would check whether other
applications built with JUCE are affected as well."
The bug occurs in standalone and through yabridge.
