WINE backtrace log
Linux Mint 17 64 Cinnamon
I tried both versions repeatedly.
WINE Version: 1:1.7.38-0ubuntu1
WINE Version: 1:1.6.2
These are fresh installs, with Rufus being my only use for WINE. Before these
installs, I tested WINE with a few other Apps and most seemed to work properly.
I then removed and purged WINE and Rufus before each install.
I tried the last three versions of Rufus. All would load, but with theme
glitches and lack of USB and directory/folder/file presence, the latter being
caused by the theme glitch or lack of connectivity. When an active button is
used to search for a file, a fatal error message comes up, then it closes.
I have attached the report.
I am only a low-intermediate Linux compiler, so I am not sure of the exact
problem, but I did notice sel=0067 (32-bit) ends at 0 (null).
I am not sure what to do with this...
Thanks

Painnt Shop Pro 9 CLI output
Hi all
I have tested Paint Shop Pro 9 with Wine 9.0-rc5 and it works almost perfectly
fine. This program is listed in Wine's AppDB as "Platinum" unfortunately there
exist one regression.
It is not possible to exit the program properly. If it is started via the CLI
and then closed there appears as the last information an
"0178:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 7BD7B2C0
"dlls/ntdll/loader.c: loader_section" wait timed out in thread 0178, blocked by
0024, retrying (60 sec)" message. That one is repeating itself after one
minute. As a result the CLI window must be forcefully closed which then also
terminates the Wine session.
See the "PaintShopPro9_CLI_output.txt" for more information.
There is only one override regarding the "gdiplus.dll" file needed at least for
the first startup. Otherwise it is not possible to close the "Learning center"
dialog box. When that is done the override can be reverted I think. Note, Paint
Shop Pro 9 already contains an own (quite old) native "gdiplus.dll" file.
The program can be downloaded from here:
https://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/191499-paint-shop-pro-4-12-7-04-8-1…
It can be installed via the "Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9.msi" and "Jasc Animation
Shop 3.msi" files without any registration and also without any serial.

it seems it wants that /F to be implemented.

The links for events and social media sometimes open on Chrome and other times
on Firefox even though only chrome is the default browser, i downloaded the
same installer several times and this behavior changes depending on which one
is used to install the launcher, even though they all have the same version
number, once installed the launcher only opens links in firefox or in chrome,
or doesn't work but tries to use firefox. once the launcher is installed this
behavior doesn't change, this happens even when winetricks is not installed
Steps to reproduce:
on kubuntu 24.04,
Download the wuthering waves installer from the official website:
https://wutheringwaves.kurogames.com/en/
then create a new wine prefix using winetricks, but don't change or download
anything in it
then using the winetricks menu run the installer, when the installer closes the
launcher for wuthering waves opens
then wait until the links in the launcher appear which can take up to around 10
minutes even on windows and then click on them and see which browser they open
on
then close the launcher, open the start menu on kde, search uninstall wuthering
waves then click on it and uninstall wuthering waves
then repeat these steps several times around 5 and see which browsers the links
open on, sometimes they open on chrome and other times they open on firefox, on
windows they always open on the default browser which i have set to chrome
