--- Comment #7 from Joris Nijnuis joris@revivingworlds.org 2013-10-06 16:21:34 CDT --- I just found a workaround for the problem. I use wine 1.7.3 from the package, that still has the problem when I start the program normally. Instead I first start a speaker-test on both the hdmi and the built in card, then with those two running I start diablo and the launcher pops up, then I stop the speaker-tests and press play in the launcher, and the game start normally, with sound through hdmi working. Starting world of warcraft I normally had the same error as with diablo 3, when I tried this fix using the launcher, it failed to start the game correctly. (The launcher disappears, wow seems to start with a transparent window showing the desktop, then the mouse reappears, but clicking only gives pc speaker error beeps.) But when I start the game using Wow.exe, skipping the launcher, and then stop the speaker-tests when the game is running, the game is still running but I have no sound. If I then go to the settings of wow and change the audio device back to hdmi (it was set on the on board apparently), then the sound start working again.
