text edit box not painting text ( on form startup )

( I have posted a similiar question in wine-users, don't flame me for doing so, just thinking about this some more, perhaps it may be more a developer question ) Ok, I have a windows app, that runs under wine fine - not quite. This app has a form, with many text field edit boxes on. Quite often these edit boxes already have text values, ie. they are not empty - there is a database behind the form. Anyway, the form shows on the screen, but the text within the edit fields is invisible, until you activate each edit box component. When you leave one edit box to the next, the text remains visible. It seems like the repainting is not working, on initial startup of the form. As a way to debug this database app ( I don't have the source code for it ) I wrote a real basic form app in Visual Studio, with two edit boxes, with data in each. Now this basic app shows the text values immediately on startup. So there must be something different that the database app is not doing. I then ran wine using 'wine --debugmsg +edit programname' for both app's. I see both logging 'Creating ANSI edit control, style = xxxxx' but the style reference is different between apps - I am not sure if this the cause or not. The problem app reports style = 54011104 and the basic app shows style = 50010080. Can somebody explain what this style reference means and how do I force an app to use a certain style of edit box ? What other wine class debugmsg types should I use to narrow down the source of this problem ? Wine history draft

I put together the following: http://users.theshell.com/~vinn/wine-history.html There's two major additions I'd like to see and I don't think I'm capable of doing them: 1) Wine history from 1994 - 1999 with a specific emphasis on changes to the architecture, design decisions that got discarded, developers who've come and gone. 2) Specific quotes from over the years. I sort of put some examples of that in the document above. Humorous quotes would be especially nice. If no one has any suggestions then I'll likely just remove the existing ones and add the information to the relevant paragraphs. I'm also thinking of adding a paragraph on the tools and programs developed for Wine. Sound disappears after few seconds

After last number of patches to sound drivers I'm having problems with sound. Unfortunately I haven't spotted when exactly did that happened. Here is what the problem is: - When using AIM, yes, windows AIM - there are nothing else I could find that exists on both Windows and Linux and has "Talk" feature. - After 5 - 10 seconds sound stops working. Recording works fine, but playback stops completely. - Tested with oss, alsa and arts. Problem exists in all of them or in something common between them. - If I don't use record, just play some sound - no problem. - Needless to say this used to work before. new old winetests

Hi there, I've got a more or less standalone version which can run the tests and submit the results to a CGI script, if possible. It also differentiates between libwine and cross builds. I would be grateful for a review. One week point is its integration into the build system: I hacked something together which works, but not sure at all if that's the right way. One other is that I did not notice that the tests return the number of tests failed as their exit status. It adds a couple of lines to the output... Added support for inter-process GetWindowLong on the window extra bytes

Hello, This change prevents IBM Translation Manager from working correctly. It has a dialog named "Export Folder" which used to contain three buttons and a tabbed notebook with various options. After this update, the pages of the tabbed notebook are no longer displayed (and created). Hope I can provide some more details like a debug log if someone will tell me which channels should be traced. Forte Agent 2.0 (closed beta)

Hi! I am new to the list and have Linux at home since last Thursday. I am still having some problems getting Forte Agent to work under Wine, but I am involved into (closed) beta testing for Forte Agent for many years and we just got the first shot at 2.0 which will change a lot anyway. Some problems are gone, but some serious problems are new. It is the aim of Forte to have Agent run under Wine. So they asked me to invite Wine developers to join the beta testing people so both sides can see what needs to be done. People on the Agent beta list are in very close contact (I really enjoy it) to the progammer Mark Sidell, he really get's the things done we suggest:-)) If you are a Wine developer and would like to join, please let me know, I'll forward it to the guys at Forte. pi

warning fixes in comctl32.dll

I just posted a patch to the reactos list that gets whatever comctl32.dll reactos has building with -Wall -Werror. But I dont have a WINE tree or any way to "port" these fixes over to WINEHQ. Can someone do it for me?
