RegisterHotKey implementation

Here is a partial RegisterHotKey and UnRegisterHotKey patch which works for the keys I need but is incomplete for modifier keys. You must run tools/make_X11wrappers before compiling or you will get errors. I don't have the time for a few weeks to finish it or look into what is needed to make it complete. I hope someone can take this and get it ready for including. Thanks, Bob.

Somehow I'm afraid I won't like this too much ;) I'm currently working on a full-scale reorganisation of the Guides, and thus this is bound to get in the way... Either we apply that and I'll have to live with that, or I'll incorporate the changes into my tree... Or maybe I'm just barking up a non-existent tree (maybe it's pretty easy to sort out after all). Can you do a 'grep GL_VERSION_1_3' in your GL headers (mostly GL.h I think). >From what I suspect, you will get something like this : #define GL_VERSION_1_3 1 The problem is that your OpenGL library is NOT implementing GL 1.3 (as shown in your glxinfo output). This means that you have a mismatch between your system headers and your library. This could be considered as a bug to report to the DRI people (if they really provide a gl.h which defines GL_VERSION_1_3, they should also provide a library with all OpenGL 1.3 entry points). We *could* fix this in Wine by adding yet another configure check (or going the full 'GetProcAddress' way which would be needed if we wanted a nice OpenGL packaged Wine) but well, sometimes enough is enough and stuff should be fixed outside of Wine and respecting the rules instead of adding yet another work-around. out of memory on dos programs

i get a "Program too big" error on all programs compiled with the "PowerBASIC" compiler pbc.exe 3.00c and similar out of memory errors on other dos programs, when running them under wine to my pleasure the pbc compiler itself runs fine under wine here is an example: http://gemia.de/test/test.bas a hello world BASIC source http://gemia.de/test/test.exe the binary compiled with pbc 3.00c under wine http://gemia.de/test/pbc.exe same compiler on every program compiled with a PowerBASIC compiler i get "Program too big" when running it under wine. this string is given out by the executable when failing to allocate some memory i tryed to disassemble the compiled program to check what type of memory allocation should have taken place, but my dos disassembler (sourcer) failed under wine with an out of memory error, too. now is this a bug in wine, not handling some ms-dos memory allocation requests, or did i just miss some configuration option to tell wine to give dos programs more memory to allocate? i hope this is not OT too much Eric PS: here is the console output >raven@VikingPC wine $ cat test.bas >print "hello world" >raven@VikingPC wine $ wine pbc test.bas >Warning: unprotecting the first 64KB of memory to allow real-mode calls. > NULL pointer accesses will no longer be caught. >PowerBASIC Compiler Version 3.00c Copyright (c) 1989-1993 by Robert S. You'll find a ^M after the "\" which invalidates the continuation char. Yup, it was that stupid +*ç"&* switch for line endings. Now it works again. Thanks! bye Fabi

interesting crash in msvc6.0 setup

Since msvcmaker doesn't support msvc4.0, I'm trying to install msvc6.0 under wine. (Yeah, I know, I should run it under windows, but I'm stubborn.) Interestingly, the setup program puts itself in the background. This means you have to be careful to check with ps that you don't have old wines laying around from the last run, and when logging, you have to make sure all wine processes have exited, else your log file isn't complete yet. Unfortunately, setup fails fairly early. When emulating win9x, it fails before presenting a dialog box -- with a page fault reading from a file handle returned from CreateFile. It looks like it's doing an assembly string search on the Windows file structure pointed to by the handle! I wonder why. Maybe it was an easy way to prevent people from running under Wine :-) We may have to hack wine to make handles be valid pointers; I wonder what magic bytes setup is looking for there. When emulating winnt or winxp, it gets a bit further, but dies with a null pointer access. Oddly enough, adding --debugmsg +relay lets it proceed. It insists on installing Microsoft VM for Java, then tries to reboot. Restarting wine d:setup (this time without --debugmsg) continues properly for a while, but eventually crashes. Whenever it crashes in winnt/xp, it leaves one or more windowless wcmd's running the following script: :Repeat del "E:\vs60wiz.exe" if exist "E:\vs60wiz.exe" goto Repeat del "C:\WINDOWS\DEL4056.BAT" in a loop, chewing up huge amounts of CPU time. -- Dan Kegel Linux User #78045 http://www.kegel.com

Prob compiling cvs 20030218

Hi I just updated to the cvs version of wine and can't compile anymore. Configure and make depend went fine but make fails with errors in dsound.h: Lines 326-332, 360-367 and many more: stray '\' in program. Looks like it doesn't like the continuing macros here. Then there are followup errors because these macros are not ok. As this file was last modified already some days ago and nobody is complaining I guess it's just me having this problem and regression search wouldn't help. But make clean / make distclean didn't help either. Anybody got a hint what could be wrong? Thanks Fabi

Hallo, with latest CVS Xilinx Webpack hangs when starting: fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter stub err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x400e99b8 "virtual.c: csVirtual" wait timed out, retrying (60 sec) tid=00000011 Does this trigger anything for somebody or doe I need to perform a binary search?
