wxWindows 2.4.0 samples bugs

Hello, I've found that wxWindows 2.4.0 samples shows a lot of visual bugs/glitches in wine. For example, Dialog sample opens without menu. menu shows on window size change Is anybody going to fix them or at least categorize all of them ? -- Best regards, Oleg mailto:xolegpro@rbcmail.ru

When I fireup Xmpeg, I get lots of these errors: err:tooltips:TOOLTIPS_WindowProc unknown msg 0420 wp=00000001 lp=004894f0 Does anyone know that message code 0420 is? Best, Waldeck

CreateProcess + STARTF_USESTDHANDLES

Hello , This bug occurs to chess.net client application and may be some others. I've debugged a problem with CreateProcess where parent process overrides child process' stdin, stderr, stdout handles. It can be done like this (portion of a code) // Override siStartInfo.dwFlags = STARTF_USESTDHANDLES; // Create the child process. if (!CreateProcess("child.exe", "child.exe", // command line NULL, // process security attributes NULL, // primary thread security attributes TRUE, // handles are inherited DETACHED_PROCESS, // creation flags NULL, // use parent's environment NULL, // use parent's current directory &siStartInfo, // STARTUPINFO pointer &piProcInfo)) // receives PROCESS_INFORMATION ErrorExit("Create process failed"); The bug in Wine is the following lines of scheduler/process.c else if (!(main_create_flags & (DETACHED_PROCESS|CREATE_NEW_CONSOLE))) { SetStdHandle( STD_INPUT_HANDLE, current_startupinfo.hStdInput ); SetStdHandle( STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE, current_startupinfo.hStdOutput ); SetStdHandle( STD_ERROR_HANDLE, current_startupinfo.hStdError ); } You see it does not allow any std handles overriding if main_create_flags' DETACHED_PROCESS or CREATE_NEW_CONSOLE bit is set on, which is partially wrong in Windows. Cause it doesn't take in account siStartInfo.dwFlags=STARTF_USESTDHANDLES, which requires overriding. The full proof of a bug is included, test it on Windows. It may be used as on of wine tests, if you need that. The bug seems to be easy to fix but to the wine server / client process creation insider. Wineconf 2003

Okay, folks, I think we should have a Wineconf, and I think it should be in conjunction with LinuxTag in 2003. However, I am too swamped to arrange a conference in Germany. Further, Dan, who was kindly following this up, can't make it to Germany in July (congrats, btw, Dan <g>). So, while he started a conversation with the Linuxtag folks, and while they were willing to help out, we really need someone to pick up the ball and run with this. I think we really need someone in Europe. Could someone please volunteer to take responsibility for making this happen? Here's the threat: unless someone steps up and volunteers to drive this process, I will hold it in Minneapolis/St. Paul, and I'll try to pick the coldest and nastiest month to do it <grin>. Here's a sample app and library that uses a couple of __thread variables in a manner similar to OpenGL. I'd appreciate it if someone could take a look and explain what I'm doing incorrectly, as I've declared the variables as LE and yet seem to be getting IE. Note that I'm away from home and don't have a system that I can actually run this app on, so it may very well be completely broken. I tried to run the html help setup programm I downloaded from MS website. When I launch it I get an error msg missing w95inf32.dll. When I copy this over from the original windows installation w95inf16.dll is also missing. I copied this also over then then I get an erro message after unpacking saying: Incorrect INF file syntax in section 'HHWDestinationDir ; Ask user for custom destination' Now I'd like to know: Are there any replacements planned/available for the w95inf dlls? Any idea whats wrong with the INF file? Setupapi and Mingw

Hola, Now that ReactOS is having some luck loading device drivers we are going to need a easy way to load inf scripts for the registry information. I have been testing building setupapi under mingw and am getting the following error. Info: resolving _wine_ldt_copy by linking to __imp__wine_ldt_copy (auto-import) fu000001.o(.idata$3+0xc): undefined reference to `libwine_a_iname' nmth000000.o(.idata$4+0x0): undefined reference to `_nm__wine_ldt_copy' E:\users\steven\mingw\bin\dllwrap.exe: E:\users\steven\mingw\bin\gcc exited with status 1 make: *** [setupapi.dll] Error 1 I have been looking at Jeroen Janssen's wine_ldt_copy importing on cygwin patch but havent had any luck.
