GetExitCodeProcess always returns 1, nmake problem

In the mail list archive I saw that some people use wine to run nmake. I just wonder if they are able to build a complex ehough makefile without nmake's switch "-i". In my wine enviroment every program that nmake runs always returns exit code "1" and nmake terminates further building something like: --------- NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'c:\vc\bin\cl.exe' : return code '0x1' Stop. --------- So to ignore exit codes I used to set nmake's switch "-i". I made small test case that show that wine always set exit code to "1" despite the passed value. Lotus Notes 6 -> start but when open a DB Crash

Hi, i'm, new i hope is true to put here. I have copy an installation of Notes6. i have set the notes.ini. I start Notes 6 and start. I login ok and see the workspace. i push on an icon to open a DB (names.nsf) and crash. I agree with Lionel, wine should ideally have a explorer reimplementation, so one would have a wine desktop that looked like a hardware emulator, but with the speed of wine, and I think that a "Correct" wine configuration should look like this (If one has a temp directory in fake windows, why use /tmp?) Well, the best solution would be to forget about a default config file and force people to configure wine correctly. If / mapping is so important for wine cfg lets have it. But I do think the best solution would be to force people to configure wine correctly, with winesetuptk that can't be considered difficult, it's easier that running the setup wizard that windows xp oem shows at first boot. BTW, we have this in the todo list # Have wizard like app to autoconfigure wine [TODO] * proposal WineSetupTk by Jeremy White Why not accept this proposal? Wwinesetuptk is a static binary that (I presume) only needs X to run, so no new dependencies, a few things could be better (For example it could avoid detecting ntfs partitions as partitions usable by wine), but it's a very good tool. p.s. I'll be away for the next month, don't expect any more useless and/or irritating comments from me for a while :-)

CreateFile("conin$") issue

Hello , I've been examining compatibility of OpenWatcom C/C++ compiler with Wine. And it works just fine except one thing. So I request for your help to eliminate it, it looks easy but covers wine client/server stuff, which is not so trivial. Watcom's getch() uses CreateFile("conin$") to get console input handle and fails with Wine :( Here's the short code. ----------------------- CUT #include <stdio.h> #include <windows.h> int main(void) { HANDLE h; h = CreateFile( "conin$", GENERIC_READ, FILE_SHARE_READ, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING, FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL, 0 ); printf("%X", h); fflush(NULL); return 0; } ----------------------- with Windows it works just fine, but fails with Wine - CreateFile returns invalid handle == 0xFFFFFFFF. please stop using krnl386.exe export when possible (especially for dos emulation which is going out of kernel32/krnl386.exe combo). Adding / to the default config file is a very bad idea, I remember reading somewhere on the net that once someone opened his mail with kmail, KDE started the attachment (A windows virus) with wine, and the virus sent itself to other users on the net. I don't remembered the details, but I do remember that the virus could get out the the net because of that / being in the wine config. So having / in the default config file is a very very bad idea, because these problems could happen again in the future. A solution to get people to have a good configuration, would be to have winsetuptk as a "official" winehq utility, and recommending people to use it to set up wine, but unfortunately winsetuptk puts / in the config file, but that can be changed. It also maps all the removable drives. BTW I've added binaries and source of winesetuptk to the wine sourceforge page, the license is gpl.

That's the article I read, I don't think there's any reason for having / in the config file, if klez used it, other viruses may use / to infect and spread via linux boxes in the future.

Status page update #1

Hello, I am working on another Status page update and here is a list of Component's that currently dont have a primary worker asighned. If you are a worker on any of these Component's can you let me know and I will add you in as the worker. Also if you are aware of a Status % work done on any of these can you let me know. I am aware that some Component's are not being worked on at all times... I would just like to get all workers in place. Also if your listed as a worker and your not the current worker or don't plan to work on a Component in the future I will remove you if you wish.
