Socializing tomorrow - and a favor for new attendees

Hi all, The plan remains to gather in or near the bar on floor 0 which is near the check in desk. There will likely be people gathered there starting at 4:00 for sure, and perhaps earlier. There is another bar on the 1st floor, so if you don't see us there, you might check up one floor. For those that are new, please make an effort to find us. We would very much like to include all of the new folks tomorrow, but we rely on you to hunt us down and introduce yourself. We briefly discussed the traditions for dinner on Friday night. We have the first tradition of getting ready to go, only to have one more person arrive, and then we wait for them to drop their bags and change, and while waiting, one more person arrives... We have the other tradition of trying to eat with a huge group and havve that dissolve into chaos. I think we're going to try radical social experiments to mitigate that problem tomorrow night. Since I didn't want to write the keynote, that falls to me. Hopefully future, non jetlagged, Jeremy will come up with something clever. But we will try to make a point of sending an email to this list when any plan is declared. The hope is that everyone can be included in the general merriment tomorrow. Cheers, Jeremy

Wineconf roommate

Hey guys, I am expecting the Wine Party Fund to reimburse me for hotel expenses this year, but I am still totally happy to have a roommate. Please let me know if any of you would like to cut down your travel costs by sharing a room. -Alex

Invitations to WineConf

Hey folks, Last year we said that we were going to try to broaden our invitations to the Wine conference to try to draw in more voices. This means potentially asking users, and making personal appeals to people that we would like to have at the conference. I plan to write a few personal notes extending invitations to folks that I've thought of (or have had suggested to me). James in our office is also going to reach out. But I'd like to ask everyone to help with that process. Roseanne, I'm particularly hoping you can reach out to the wine users in some way. A post on the forums? Could we / should we do a big news item so it's on the main page? I've asked PlayOnLinux folks as well as the Wineskin folks to come. Anyone else? Cheers, Jeremy

Wineconf sponsorship

Hi folks, This is a reminder that the Wine Project uses it's donations to sponsor travel to the annual Wine conference for contributors to Wine. So if you think Wineconf sounds cool, but you can't afford to go, please think again. I can't promise that we'll sponsor everyone, or that we can cover the full cost, but we are very cheerful to try! I'd also invite people that contribute, but perhaps not as developers, to also write in. We are interested in expanding the voices at the conference, and you would be very welcome. Hi all, Jeremy has set up RSVP page for this year conference: https://www.winehq.org/wineconf/rsvp Please fill the form if you're planning to attend. The pool of rooms for participants is reserved until middle of October. However, some rooms will be released in the end of July unless we know that we need them. Hi all, We'd like to share with everyone current plans for WineConf. It will most likely be on 28th and 29th October 2017 in Wrocław, Sofitel hotel. It's still not final yet, but we feel that it's close enough to be worth sharing. We will send an announcement with more details once we have everything sorted out. Looking forward to see you all in Wrocław, Piotr and Jacek PS: I don't seem to have enough permissions to create a page on Wiki. Could someone please do that?
