Hello all,
since I'm in Karlsruhe, with my parents living close to Stuttgart university, I want to take several days off for wine conference preparations (and possibly cleanup).
Could someone give me a rough figure of when I should take some days off and how many?
For now I'm thinking of 28. (Thu), 29. (Fri) and possibly 02. (Mon).
Any thoughts on what should be prepared for wineconf?
Thanks,
Andreas Mohr
Any thoughts on what should be prepared for wineconf?
Yikes! This isn't the distant future anymore <grin>.
A few thoughts:
1. Can someone throw up a Wiki of some sort? (Jeremy Newman hates Wiki's so it would be nice if I didn't have to ask him to create one).
My thought was we could link to it from the Wineconf page, and then we could use that page as sort of a virtual 'bulletin board'.
People can post when they're arriving and good contact information for them.
I'm particularly thinking that the folks that will be there a day or so ahead should post their contact info (and maybe their picture, for folks that haven't been to a Wineconf before?).
2. Have we established a gathering place for Friday night, April 28th?
If nothing else, I think we should post where we've gone to the Wiki, as well as letting folks at the front desk of the main hotel know.
The main thing we need to accomplish is that when someone gets in on Friday, they should know where to look to find the party <grin>.
Cheers,
Jeremy

OK, I'll do that ASAP.

Done. Please take a look at http://wineconf.itomig.de. If that look good to you, please feel free to set a link there on the wineconf site.

David

This looks great to me; Brian, do you mind updating the page to point there? (While you're in there, Brian, would you mind adding 'official' sponsorship status for WRS somehow; they are being very generous and I think we should acknowledge it).
Cheers,
Jeremy

Fine! While we're at it, I wonder if you might add ITOMIG (www.itomig.de) to the "Thanks To" section on the wineconf page? We're mostly donating our manpower, time and experience (being somewhat local to Stuttgart), but I think that's worth being mentioned, too.
That said, I remember Shachar's company being willing to donate as well, so I think they should be listed there, too?
Cheers,
David

Looking at that page more closely, I actually wonder why there's not a word of Codeweavers' engagement there(?) And when writing my last email, I totally forgot that there's at least one organization that should really be listed there: the "Fachschaft Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik" (=local students' association) that is helping Mr Gemkow organize many things in the Universit itself (http://www.ei.faveve.uni-stuttgart.de/).
Cheers,
David

It's already on there at the bottom (just not abbreviated.)

Is there still a need for extra money for the conference? If so, I can transfer it to you using the existing money transfer mechanism we have up.

Yes, this is a prime example for why "reply-to" on mailing lists should be avoided. That was supposed to be a private email to Jeremy.
Shachar.

http://wiki.reactos.com is available for this.
