Hi, i hope i can join my first wineconf this year, i heard about the Hackathon an thought: damn, i dont have a laptop, just a highend desktop-pc. and it will be hard to travel with a desktop, its possible, but i dont want to. the only thing i have is a old laptop with max. 250 MHz and 64 MB Ram. May that be enough?

Have you tried building Wine on that? I suspect it would take too long to be useful.
On the other hand, even a slow laptop could be a perfectly fine ssh terminal to somebody's more powerful machine, if you can find someone willing to share cycles. - Dan

Great idea, that's it! Thank you!

I haven't heard about any hackathon plans(links?), but I have 3 laptops here which I use for coding on Wine. I can bring more than one with me if needed.
What I have: Samsung X11 Intel core 2 duo 2 GB RAM, Geforce 7400. I am most likely using that one myself
MacBook Core 2 duo 1 GB Intel GMA X3100 My special for hunting bugs in the OSX driver for this chipset
Acer travelmate 800 1.6 GHZ Pentium M 512 MB Radeon 9000 mobility
And if anyone is really crazy: This one is my dust collector: Acer travelmate 603 700 MHZ Pentium 3 128 MB ram ATI Mach64
If I take more notebooks with me it probably means I have to come by train, since I don't want to take a huge bag of notebooks with me as carry-on luggage, but that's not much of a problem.

can i reserver that one, please? :)
As it is my first time on wineconf i'd like to know if the german developers are traveling together, or meet in train or something?

Well, as I said that notebook is the one I am going to use. Its my main computer where I have all my working trees and other data etc.

Usually everyone travels on his own, but then we often don't have too many people coming from the same place. I for one live in Vienna, and I don't know of any other active Wine developer who lives here.

I live near Würzburg, but maybe some guys can sync their train-routes and can meet. A developer map would be great now.
