[Bug 57796] New: Testcomplete fails to authenticate license key
by WineHQ Bugzilla Oct. 5, 2026

Oct. 5, 2026

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57796 Bug ID: 57796 Summary: Testcomplete fails to authenticate license key Product: Wine Version: 10.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: francisco278herrera(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Testcomplete fails to authenticate license key, this is not very obvious when running it on vanilla wine but if you run wine staging i believe it becomes more visible. i have attached the full console output from installation onwards using winetricks since i had difficulty saving console output for just the program. i ran the installer which then opens the program on it's own, the program itself starts to run with the first line that says 01f8:fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot in the terminal. in vanilla wine the program installs successfully then opens a browser window to obtain a license key which fails silently and the program closes, then the program refuses to open past the splash screen. when the program fails it closes with 0994:err:menubuilder:InvokeShellLinker failed to extract icon from L"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\SmartBear\\TestComplete 15\\Help\\Getting Started With TestComplete 15.doc" in the terminal in wine staging i believe, the program behaves largely the same way but when authentication fails, the program says it failed to communicate with the backend or something similar. then when you close the program and open it again it gives an error about not being able to start or find the sentinel license? service or it gives an error about not having an active license? if i remember correctly the sentinel error appears the first time you try to open the program yourself, the license error appears the second time you try. based on what i have seen in game anticheat, the CreateToolhelp32Snapshot is used to verify a system's integrity so it is possible the program is not running due to the sentinel? DRM not being able to determine, or failing the system's integrity, not entirely sure this can be fixed in wine since they could just look at running wine processes and determine that it's not a windows system maybe? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 60074] New: Incorrect `GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB` handling on the default framebuffer
by WineHQ Bugzilla Oct. 3, 2026

Oct. 3, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60074 Bug ID: 60074 Summary: Incorrect `GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB` handling on the default framebuffer Product: Wine Version: 11.14 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: opengl Assignee: wine-bugs(a)list.winehq.org Reporter: tpaniaki(a)protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- Created attachment 81584 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=81584 Patch Somehow related to https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59436 which has been fixed upstream alternatively. While investigating a color issue affecting Roon under Wine with Xwayland, I found that `GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB` remained enabled while rendering to the default framebuffer. This produced incorrect color output because the default framebuffer should not always inherit the application's logical sRGB state. ### Root cause Wine correctly tracks the logical OpenGL enable state through `set_context_attribute()`, but `GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB` requires additional handling because its physical state depends on the currently bound draw framebuffer. An application may also call: glEnable(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB); while the default framebuffer is bound. In that case, simply disabling sRGB in `glBindFramebuffer(0)` is not sufficient because the subsequent `glEnable()` immediately re-enables it. ### Proposed solution The patch introduces four changes: 1. Add `GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB` to Wine's tracked enable state. 2. Generate a manual wrapper for `glEnable()`. 3. Prevent the physical `glEnable(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB)` call when the current draw framebuffer is the default framebuffer, while still updating Wine's logical state through `set_context_attribute()`. 4. Update `set_current_fbo()` so that switching draw framebuffers restores the correct physical OpenGL state: * disable sRGB when binding framebuffer 0; * re-enable it when binding a user FBO if the logical state is enabled. ### Why a wrapper? The wrapper is necessary because `glEnable()` is executed before `set_context_attribute()`. Without intercepting `glEnable(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB)`, an application can immediately re-enable sRGB on the default framebuffer, bypassing the correction performed during framebuffer switches. ### Validation The patch was tested with Roon, which originally exhibited incorrect colors. Instrumentation confirmed the following sequence: * `glEnable(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB)` is issued while the default framebuffer is bound. * The wrapper blocks the physical OpenGL enable while preserving the logical state. * When Roon switches to its off-screen FBO, `GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB` is correctly enabled. * When it returns to the default framebuffer, `GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB` is disabled again. The resulting rendering is correct and no regressions were observed during testing. I'd appreciate comments on whether this approach fits Wine's intended handling of framebuffer-dependent OpenGL state, or whether there is a preferred architectural solution. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. [Bug 59775] New: German umlauts won't be handled correctly by typing
by WineHQ Bugzilla Oct. 3, 2026

Oct. 3, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59775 Bug ID: 59775 Summary: German umlauts won't be handled correctly by typing Product: Wine Version: 11.9 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)list.winehq.org Reporter: andreas.franz(a)arcor.de Distribution: --- German umlauts (ö, ä, ü) make strange things, if typed on keyboard: - .NET keycode-event don't produce any keycode in an e. g. textbox. But letter is shown correctly in same textbox. Pressing CTRL+<umlaut> produce letter AND keycode. - Pressing "ö" crashes MailStore-Client with "arithmetic" error. Works fine with 11.0 stable. Works fine if Ctrl+ö is pressed, too. I've noticed this behavior since wine 11.8. Copy&Paste works fine in all tested applications. So I think it's something wrong with keyboard-press-eventhandling? Any ideas? regards, Andy -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
