This behavior does not occur when running the application on Windows XP. The application calls ICatInformation::IsClassOfCategories with cImplemented == (ULONG)-1 and rgcatidImpl == NULL: 0128:trace:ole:COMCAT_ICatInformation_IsClassOfCategories CLSID: {ed889e76-d6bc-11d0-adc0-00c04fc33642} Implemented 4294967295 0128:trace:ole:COMCAT_ICatInformation_IsClassOfCategories (null) 0128:trace:ole:COMCAT_ICatInformation_IsClassOfCategories <guid-0x0010> According to MSDN, passing -1 for cImplemented should result in ICatInformation::IsClassOfCategories ignoring the rgcatidImpl parameter, but Wine's implementation reports a failure with E_POINTER instead, which results in the unexpected message box behavior. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
