Since Wine 11.5, the game fails to start due to a network error. Important Note: This is not a local network issue. Reverting the Wine version from 11.5 back to 11.4 immediately resolves the issue, and the game connects to the server successfully using the exact same network environment. Reproducibility: 100% (Always occurs on 11.5) System Info: OS: Debian 13 (Trixie) Wine version: 11.5 (regression) / 11.4 (working) Software: DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme Venus Vacation (DMM version) Identified Regression Commit: The issue was introduced by the following commit: https://github.com/wine-mirror/wine/commit/20b34866f318617c854818dc59fa7b8e… Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch DOAXVV (DMM version) on Wine 11.5. 2. The game immediately shows a network error dialog during the startup sequence. Expected Results: The game should connect to the server and proceed to the title screen (as it does in Wine 11.4). Actual Results: The game displays the following error: "サーバーに接続ができませんでした。リトライしますか？ ※ネットワーク環境をご確認ください。 WebApiManager STATUS: 2 ERROR_NO: 200" (Translation: Could not connect to the server. Retry? The issue only occurred after upgrading from Wine version 11.0.1 to 11.1-2. The issue is not resolved by: - Deleting the Wine prefix (rm -rf ~/.wine) and reinstalling the game - Deleting the safefile of the game (rm -rf ~/'NFS Most Wanted') - Disconnecting all USB peripherals, except the gamepad, before starting the game - Using another USB port for the gamepad, a different USB cable or a different gamepad of the same type Furthermore the gamepad causes no problems in other games that are installed outside of Wine. IR50_32.dll should have been installed as part of the Indeo codec installation (bundled with the CD), but as a result of the file register failure, there is no intro video playback when opening the installed game. I'm using Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.3. The wineprefix is freshly created. winecfg is set to Windows 98 emulation. There is a workaround to get video playback working: to set a "ir50_32.dll" override (native then builtin). Changes upstream in libwebrtc added calls to `IDirect3DDxgiInterfaceAccess::GetInterface` and `CreateDirect3D11DeviceFromDXGIDevice` which we've had to create a local patch for to get our builds working again. But indexed vertex blending is not supported yet. I've implemented rather straightforward patch to do it which works for me, it is attached. Though I am far not familiar with wined3d development and not quite sure that my patch is complete and does not have any caveats. A potential caveat with this patch is the following. Besides using indexes in vertex shaders, a big enough number of supported vertex blend matrices is required to really support this Direct3D feature. It was 4 in 1.7.47, I changed to 128 using the same framework developed in 1.7.47. It may potentially fail on some graphic cards due to large number of uniforms in vertex shader generated.
