Summary: Picasa Movie feature does nothing
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: clay.wood(a)gmail.com
CC: dank(a)kegel.com
I'm running version 20050524 installed from the rpm for a Red Hat 9 i686 build.
The "Movie" feature, which should create a new AVI movie from the images I have
selected in Picasa, doesn't do anything.
Here's the version of Picasa I installed:
http://toolbar.google.com/picasa/picasa2-setup-1884.exe
To reproduce:
1. Select a photo and try to "Movie..." from Create menu.
2. Picasa prompts with a "Create Movie dialog, allowing the user to set the
delay between pictures and the movie size.
3. When you choose "OK the dialog disappears and nothing happens. I would
normally expect to see a "Video Compression" dialog to select the compressor
before Picasa would go on to create a new movie file.

In the last three months many things have been fixed. Test with the latest
snapshot or better latest CVS. You can run wine after compiling without
installing from the location you compiled it.

I'm running version 20050524 installed from the rpm for a Red Hat 9 i686 build.
The "Set as Desktop" feature, which should set my desktop background image to
the image I have selected in Picasa, doesn't do anything.
Here's the version of Picasa I installed:

To reproduce:
1. Select a photo and try to "Set as Desktop..." from Create menu.
2. Picasa prompts to ask This will replace your current desktop background with
the current image. Are you sure you want to proceed?.
3.When you choose Yes the confirm dialog stays up for a few more seconds as if
it is processing the change. However when you minimize the windows you can see
that the desktop has not changed.

has failed to connect.

This is a console trace of starting application and opening one file and then
tring to closing it. The file never closes and when you exit the program it
continues in a loop trying to close the opened file without success until the

Actually I need the dev package. I set it to later for now and see if it
works. I cant be bothered to do a apt-get dist upgrade to breezy so for now I
am just reinstalling. See you in a hour with information! Would Wine be faster
if compiled with gcc 4?
