sorry, I have no native windows installed on my computer : only Linux Kubuntu.
I suppose that "DAO350.DLL" is a part of the soft "Visuged", I'm tryng to
install.

i've noticed that if you double click on them, they appear like normal, however
this isn't the case in windows and this is still an issue.

Possibly, but as soon as one kills WINE through "wineserver -k" everything
returns to normal. I think that somehow the window maximizes, but doesn't
redraw, so it catches all of the Mouse Events and prevents redrawing of
everything behind it.

If the "--libdir" configure option breaks Wine, it's a Wine problem that is
exposed by Portage, not a gentoo problem I think...

no, it doesn't fix the problem.
Does the for loop "for(i=0; i<msihandletable_size; i++)" execute the entire
block of code below it that uses the i variable initialized in the loop? Or does
it only execute the line directly below it without using brackets to group the
statements after the loop?

No it's the game's bug. Try to run in from console on windows (from different
directory of course) and see what happens.
