If I compile Wine from the tarball with that option Civ3:C doesn't work (it works without), while if I edit the ebuild to not set it, Civ3:C works (and I didn't need to apply any patch, yeah!). Maybe we have to install some fonts? (Be it gdm, metacity, SOMETHING important because the GUI becomes unresponsive).
