Summary: Warcraft3: 100% CPU Usage
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.18.
Platform: PC
URL: http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=897
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bernat.tallaferro(a)gmail.com
Using Warcraft3 v1.00 and wine 0.9.18 I'm getting 100% CPU usage.
I'm not sure if this is related to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=934,
but the suggested workaround of using the native msvcrt.dll did not seem to work
for me.

Did you patch the game to version 1.1?
This problem occurs when you run the unpatched version (1.0).
Also, make sure the patch has all filenames lowercased, some patches have all
filenames uppercased and this seems to be giving problems...
The fallout page in the appdb has a link to the patch...

You can download a time limited version of this program for testing at:
http://www.magsoftwrx.com/ << Select the Personal version.
Installed fine, including a shortcut on the desktop.
http://pastebin.ca/128075 << terminal output with default settings and files
replaced comclt32.dll via instructions via IRC support.
http://pastebin.ca/128082 << terminal output with replaced file. Program did not
launch.

like. Here is what it looks like >>

Since times can't be put in, this stops use of the program all together. Other
than the missing calendars on the main window, and lack of time entry,
everything else seems to work fine.

I think that shows that your SDL arts driver is going to be broken because of
the arts bug too. If you really insist on building arts, then you really ought
to patch arts.

Yeah, I already reported to that bug several months ago, but was told to submit
a new report. Unfortunately, libsdl1.2-dev depends on libartsc0-dev, so
removing the packages is no solution for me. Isn't there any way to prevent the
crash?
