Summary: Marco Polo Großer Reiseplaner 2005/2006 - Broken display
of text; Problem with alpha channel?
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.18.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: askwar(a)digitalprojects.com
I'm using Wine 0.9.18. on Ubuntu using the package from
http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt. With "Marco Polo Großer Reiseplaner", the
display of the street names isn't correct. As you can see on the screenshot
which I'll attach, the street names are printed on a grey box if the street name
isn't printed strictly horizontal. I'd guess there's some sort of problem with
the handling of the Alpha channel.
I also had this problem with Wine 0.9.13. on Gentoo Linux.

I just tested this with latest git. Visually this is fixed. Comparing the
+bitmap trace with the trace snipped in the original report seems to support
that this is fixed.

Works fine now with Wine 0.9.18. on Ubuntu using the package from
http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt
Before, I was using Wine on Gentoo. I'll see if I can find a chance to verify on
Gentoo as well.

Summary: execmod from SeLinux interfering with program execution?
Product: Wine

I try to run the latest cvs, with SeLinux enabled, and i get in my log with
this kind of mesages:
audit(1154453141.552:774): avc: denied { execmod } for pid=17382

I ran it as root to be sure i don't get any troubles(no luck), this also
happens as a normal user.
A early wine 0.9.17 (fedora extras wine 0.9.17-1) manages to run the program
just fine, but more recent wine's require:
setsebool -P allow_execmod=1
to work properly.
Also, i did a little research, and i found this:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2005-June/018398.html
But the thing is, i didn't get any error messages in the console, no err, the
loading of the program just stopped, but i could still see the executable and
wineserver in the process table still using cpu.
Soooo, is this a wine bug, a program flaw, or a SeLinux screw-up ?

Ok, some more clarification on this, ALL the levels (regardless what the ground
texture is supposed to be) show up white and then changes to the green (and
stays) when you click on one of the construction vehicles.

This may be a transparency issue. When the options or any other menu comes up
the game also slows down severely (as the menus have transparent backgrounds
allowing you to see what is still going on behind them).

As per the title, this slows the game down from 50-60fps to 10-15fps (where as
my machine runs it with all options fine in Windows). This may be a bug or
purely an optimisational issue but it shouldn't create such a massive
performance hit. This sounds incredibly vague so I'll provide any detail you
request.
