Summary: Regression on Quake 3
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: hornett83(a)yahoo.co.uk
Just installed latest version of WINE from http://winehq.com/site/download-deb
onto Ubuntu Dapper.
Previous version from this archive worked well with Quake 3 - the updated
version unfortunately does not.
Instead (again on Quake 3) I get this:
fixme:win:WIN_CreateWindowEx Parent is HWND_MESSAGE
fixme:keyboard:RegisterHotKey ((nil),0,0x00000001,9): stub
X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 17 (X_GLXVendorPrivateWithReply)
Serial number of failed request: 3411
Current serial number in output stream: 3411
retro@d600:~$ wine --version
Wine 0.9.20
(this is not currently on the drop down bug report menu)
As reported by apt, this is vesion 0.9.20~winehq0~ubuntu~6.06-1
Thanks
Andy

OK, now that bug 5348 is fixed, we get about a millisecond further,
so I'm reopening this. Photoshop Elements now inserts the serial
number correctly and skips the serial number screen correctly,
but it then gets confused, and says the
serial number is incorrect. If you click 'Back', it takes
you to the serial number that was correctly skipped over before,
and it has the right trial serial number,
but the Name and Organization are empty; if you click 'Next',
it complains that they are empty. Filling them in works,
but you don't have to do that in windows.
I'll attach the crucial parts of the +msi log.

I have this problem with nvidia binary 8762 as well. This is on both a nVidia
Quadro 980XGL (256M) and a 7800 GT OC PCI-e (512M) cards.
Attaching glxinfo for 980. Wine version 0.9.19 tested.

wine 0.9.20 error log
Wine 0.9.20 still has same problem. Error log is attached.
And one more thing. I'm not absolutly sure, but...
When I install wine from rpm, in Midnight Commander I can just press Enter on
the windows EXE file, and Fedora Core runs it with wine.
When I compile wine from sources, in mc I can't run EXE "directly", so I have
to give command "wine programm.exe"...
It seems a little bit strange...

It seems the patch won't be accepted because the proper fix is to use the
alsa-lib in a way that signals don't get used.

is this a copy that was installed in windows and then run in linux, or did wine
actually install it too?
If wine did not install it, that may be your problem, because some of the
registry entries it needs aren't there, and as for why it used to work, I don't
know.
