Still I think we've narrowed this bug down to msvcrt (on which Windows JVM is built?!) This particular error is present for as long as I remember, but it (and lots of others) never prevented Oni from running. Tested it with pretty much every Wine release form 0.9.11 to 0.9.29, and never had any problems. My wild guess would be the ALSA driver of Wine, because it is extremely crashy with Oni. Try setting it to OSS.
