Ah, and if I disable managed mode, then it works too (without enabling virtual
desktop).

Are you still getting problems?
I just did a test, and I noticed that I got the same issue (about 40% CPU usage)
by eMule, however it only occured while eMule was actively hashing files. What
happens if you reduce your share size or let it finish?

Is this still a problem? If not I'll close the bug.

Summary: eMule crashes when selecting a previous search query
from the drop-down list
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.31.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-richedit
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: scott(a)open-vote.org
This is a regression: 0.9.30 worked fine, however as of 0.9.31 if I go to the
search tab in eMule, begin entering a term similar to my previous one then a
pulldown list of previous search terms beginning with the same letters pops up.
If I select one, the program will crash.
Here's the terminal output that occurs after I click:
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00730024 at address 0x7bc37074
(thread 0009), starting debugger...
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x110020 "heap.c: main process heap
section" wait timed out in thread 0025, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec)

This is still *broken*, as of 0.9.31.
Re #12, I think you missed the point of #11. Indeed, the programs don't work
properly once installed, but this is as a result of a failure of the installer.
A workaround for this bug is to copy the dll into place manually. Assuming you
have the install disk (or disk image) mounted at /mnt/cdrom, do:
cp /mnt/cdrom/OS/System/accwiz.dll .wine/drive_c/windows/system32/
winword.exe will now start normally, and allow you to type some text.
Given how easy the workaround is, presumably it would be pretty easy to fix?
[My system: Ubuntu Edgy, and an absolutely default wine setup, as created by: rm
-rf ~/.wine; winemine]

Things seem to have improved; the script I just attached
shows that yesterday's git (plus James' patch for bug 7461)
can install powerbuilder 10.5 demo.
