Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal

AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: djmanas(a)centrum.cz
Hello,
I had applied the get tantra to work from the other bug in this game and Wine
and had encountered another. When I get to the game, I get choppy sound, even in
game (and the choppy sound makes sometime game to freeze for a while) and I get the:
err:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne underrun on sound buffer 0x1d0ce8
When the game freezes completely I get something like:
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x1c9254 "WINEALSA_mmap_crst" wait
timed out in thread 0011, blocked by 0000, retrying (60 sec)
I am attaching full log to the bug ...

Wine 0.9.31 did not make a difference. I have not tested X.Org 7.2

OK, from what I seem to understand from the debugging, the backtrace starts in
some address not available, even on the second one which is the one I did with
-ggdb, which should* be equivalent to -g.
88 0x7edc6f61 in user32 (+0x6f61) (0x0045e220)
89 0x0000c030 (0x00010028)
90 0x00000000 (0x00000000)
0x7d32734e: -- no code accessible --
And the same on the last one. So I guess to see where it explodes I should not
strip binaries in my whole system... Should you guys allow me to find a more
convenient way to do it than recompiling the whole system, I'd be infinitely
grateful for the patience invested... First time I report something like this,
you know. I just found http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml, which
suggest adding a "nostrip" flag, and I guess recompiling the relevant packages ,
which I hope to be wine and its inmediate list of dependences (though that can
take a while).
So again, thanks for the patience to this n00b and the pointers on how to
report... I'll try to get a debugging output without that dreaded "no code
accessible" line and report as soon as I can.

I did not attach a separate file of the terminal output, because I cannot get
one. The computer crashes completely at the bug, and responds to nothing
thereafter. It doesn't help to run the test in winedbg either. I can see the
output on the crashed terminal, though, and that's how I manage to copy it
manually. But all there is, is 14 times
fixme:msvcrt:MSVCRT_sopen : pmode 0x01b6 ignored
then
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:456:(snd_seq_hv_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No such file
or directory
And the conformance test crashes while extracting tests for 'dsounds'. Knowing
the test was working fine before winetest-200701071000-paul-mingw.exe, and the
only patch affecting 'dsounds' in that version is the above mentioned patch.
I assume I did find the cause as explained above, but I don't feel confident
enough to make a patch of it. So, could someone check it and make the fix, please?
