The patch has been accepted to this should be fixed in the currect Git and in
wine releases starting from 0.9.34

Hi!
I installed 0.9.33 and the problem is still present (Suse 10.2).
I solved the problem by copying the ttf-tamoha-font to ~/drive_c/windows/fonts.
After several tries I created a new folder "fonts" and put the font in there.
Suddenly it worked for me... hm.

expect it to do, and what it does instead. You can typically ignore fixme

Fallout 1 seems to work fine here. Since they share the same engine, is this
still a problem with 0.9.33?

Not at all. It seems to work for most users, although there is at least one
who has the problem still.
Using GLSL is just a workaround; the ARB backend should not crash.

Using patched wine-0.9-18. It does not complain about DirectX9 anymore though so
there's a little hope :)
What can it be? Wrong settings in wine? I left everything untouched while
running $winecfg but version of Windows. I changed it to WinXP.
